Abstract
Skripsi ini merancang penerima radio FM berbasis software defined radio menggunakan RTL-SDR dongle sebagai perangkat keras. Adapun perangkat lunak yang digunakan pada skripsi ini yaitu GNU Radio. Penelitian ini dimulai dengan mempelajari komponen penerima FM konvensional. Setelah itu supaya RTL-SDR bisa terbaca oleh komputer, dilakukan penginstalan driver RTL- SDR. Kemudian merancang komponen dalam sistem baru yaitu berbasis SDR. Setelah merancang sistem tersebut di lakukan pengaplikasikan pada perangkat lunak GNU Radio agar GNU Radio dapat memprogram RTL-SDR seperti sitem yang telah dibuat sebelumnya. Kemudian untuk mendapat hasil yang dibutuhkan, dilakukan proses kompilasi atau mengekspor program kepada RTL-SDR. Hasil penelitian yang didapat adalah, RTL-SDR mampu berfungsi sebagai penerima FM. Didapatkan 14 saluran stasiun radio FM komersial yang berada di lingkungan Kota Tasikmalaya. Penggunaan RTL-SDR dan GNU Radio untuk penerima FM berbasis SDR mempunyai beberapa kelebihan dibandingkan dengan penerima FM Konvensional. Penggunaan RTL-SDR dengan tuner Fitipower memungkinkan pengaplikasian dan pengoprasian yang lebih luas dan mudah dibawa kemanapun sebab ukurannya yang relatif kecil dibandingkan platform SDR lainnya. Perancangan penerima FM berbasis SDR lebih sederhana sebab perangkat yang dibutuhkan sedikit.
English Abstract
This thesis designed an FM radio receiver based software defined radio using RTL-SDR dongle as a hardware device. The software used in this thesis is GNU Radio. The study began by studying conventional FM receiver components. Afterwards, for RTL-SDR to be readable by the computer, a RTL-SDR driver installation is performed. Then designing components in a new system that is based on SDR. After designing the system, apply the GNU Radio software so that GNU Radio can program RTL-SDR such as pre-built systems. Then to get the necessary results, the process of compiling or exporting the program to RTL-SDR. The result of the research is RTL-SDR capable of functioning as an FM receiver. Acquired 14 channels of commercial FM radio stations located in the area of Tasikmalaya city. The use of RTL-SDR and GNU Radio for SDR-based FM receivers has some advantages compared to conventional FM receivers. The use of RTL-SDR with tuner Fitipower allows application and Pengoprasian wider and easy to carry anywhere because of its relatively small size compared to other SDR platforms. The design of an SDR-based FM receiver is simpler because the device needs less.
