Abstract

Beras merupakan makanan pokok masyarakat Indonesia, penyimpanan beras dilakukan dengan tujuan menyediakan kebutuhan beras di masa depan. Beras dalam penyimpanan dapat berbentuk utuh, patah, dan tepung. Beras Mentik Wangi merupakan salah satu jenis beras yang digemari masyarakat karena memiliki cita rasa dan aroma seperti pandan dan tekstur nasinya yang pulen. Kendala dalam penyimpanan beras Mentik Wangi yaitu hama gudang. Serangga Corcyra cephalonica (Stainton) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) merupakan hama yang menyerang beras dan mengakibatkan terbentuknya agregasi pada butiran beras. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji pertumbuhan populasi dan perkembangan C. cephalonica pada proporsi bentuk butiran beras Mentik Wangi yang berbeda. Penelitian telah dilakukan di Laboratorium Hama Tumbuhan, Jurusan Hama dan Penyakit Tumbuhan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Brawijaya dari bulan November 2019 hingga Mei 2020 dengan rerata suhu harian 27,58 °C dan kelembapan 69,96%. Penelitian ini terdiri dari 12 perlakuan proporsi bentuk butiran beras Mentik Wangi yang berbeda dan diulang sebanyak 3 kali. Proporsi bentuk butiran beras Mentik Wangi yang digunakan meliputi utuh 100%, patah 100%, tepung 100%, utuh 75% + patah 25%, utuh 50% + patah 50%, utuh 25% + patah 75%, utuh 75% + tepung 25%, utuh 50% + tepung 50%, utuh 25% + tepung 75%, patah 75% + tepung 25%, patah 50% + tepung 50%, patah 25% + tepung 75%. Penelitian ini diatur dalam Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Penelitian dilakukan dengan mengamati pertumbuhan populasi C. cephalonica dari 100 butir telur yang diinfestasikan pada 100 g pakan sesuai perlakuan. Variabel yang diamati meliputi jumlah larva, pupa, imago betina, imago jantan, dan total imago. Telur imago pertumbuhan populasi yang diletakkan pada hari yang sama diambil 10 butir kemudian setiap larva yang baru menetas dari telur diinfestasikan pada 6 g pakan sesuai perlakuan. Variabel pengamatan perkembangan meliputi stadium telur, larva, pupa, praoviposisi, oviposisi, pascaoviposisi, lama hidup imago betina dan jantan, fekunditas, dan fertilitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pertumbuhan populasi C. cephalonica tidak dipengaruhi proporsi bentuk butiran beras Mentik Wangi yang berbeda, meskipun terdapat perbedaan jumlah imago jantan yang lebih rendah pada tepung 100% dan utuh 25% + tepung 75% dibandingkan dengan butiran butiran utuh 100% dan butiran patah 100%, utuh 75% + patah 25%, utuh 50% + patah 50%, utuh 25% + patah 75%, utuh 75% + tepung 25%, utuh 50% + tepung 50%, patah 75% + tepung 25%, patah 50% + tepung 50%, patah 25% + tepung 75%. Proporsi bentuk butiran beras Mentik Wangi yang berbeda tidak berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan C. cephalonica.

English Abstract

Rice is the main food of Indonesian,the purpouse of rice storage is to provide rice needed in the future. In storage rice has a different form such us whole, broken and flour. Mentik wangi is one of the white rice varieties favored by the most people because the taste is like pandan and fulfier texture. One of the obstacle in storage of rice is the pest attack namely Corcyra cephalonica (Stainton) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae). These pest can attack the rice in storage and cause aggregation on rice. This research aimed to examine the population growth and development of C. cephalonica in different proportion grain form of Mentik Wangi rice. This research was conducted at the Plant Pest Laboratory, Department of Plant Pests and Diseases, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University started from November 2019 until May 2020 with average temperature 27,58 °C and relative humidity 69,96%. This study consisted of 12 treatments with 3 replications. The treatments were 100% whole, 100% broken, 100% flour, 75% whole + 25% broken, 50% whole + 50% broken, 25% whole + 75% broken, 75% whole + 25% flour, 50% whole + 50% flour, 25% whole + 75% flour, 75% broken + 25% flour, 50% broken + 50% flour, 25% broken + 75% flour of Mentik Wangi rice. The study was design using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD). The implementation of population growth of C. cephalonica was infested 100 eggs on 100 g diet according the treatment. The observation variables were number of larvae, pupae, female adult, male adult, and total adult. The eggs produced by population growth adult in the same day was taken 10 eggs than after eggs was hatched larvae was infested on 6 g diet according the treatment. The observation variables were egg stage, larvae, pupae, preoviposition, oviposition, postoviposition,, life length of female and male adult, fecundity, and fertility. The result showed that the population growth of C. cephalonica was not affected by the proportion form of Mentik Wangi rice, although there was a difference in number of males adult which was lower on flour 100% and whole 25% + flour 75%, compare to whole 100% and broken 100%, whole 75% + broken 25%, whole 50% + broken 50%, whole 25% + broken 75%, whole 75% + flour 25%, whole 50% + flour 50%, broken 75% + flour 25%, broken 50% + flour 50%, broken 25% + flour 75% . The development of C. cephalonica was not affected by the proportion grain form of Mentik Wangi rice.
