Alfiana Widiyanti, Firdaus (2020) Pembuatan Granul Zeolit Terfosfatasi- Kitosan dan Kajian Adsorpsi Kromium(VI) Menggunakan Adsorben Berbasis Zeolit dan Bentonit. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
Spektra IR mengkonfirmasi keberhasilan fosfatasi zeolit.
English Abstract
This study aims to study the production of phosphated zeolite-chitosan granules by manual method, to investigate the effect of pH, contact time, and initial concentration of adsorbate on the adsorption of chromium(VI) using zeolite and bentonite-based adsorbents. In this study, chromium(VI) desorption studies were also conducted. The making of the adsorbent was carried out in several main stages including activation of natural zeolite, phosphatation of zeolite to produce Si/P adsorbents with a ratio of 1/6, and the production of phosphated zeolite-chitosan granules adsorbent. The adsorbent was characterized using FT-IR spectrophotometers. The chromium(VI) adsorption study of zeolite and bentonite-based adsorbents was carried out by journal review. The adsorbents which have been examined for their adsorption capacity for chromium(VI) are clinoptilolite zeolite (CZ), organobentonite (OB), zeolite prepared from raw fly ash (ZFA), magnetic natural zeolite–Pollypirole (MZ-PPy), and granules alumino silico phosphate (GASP), imprinted-4-VP-co-MMA natural zeolite (IIP-ANZ). IR spectra confirm the phosphatation of zeolite. A new absorption band at 652.66 cm-1 (vibration of Si-O-P) and a shifted peak from 1219.69 cm-1 to 1194.62 cm-1 are presumably due to the substitution of SiO4 by phosphate ion in the zeolite framework. Chromium(VI) adsorption was influenced by pH, contact time, and adsorbate concentration. The optimum pH of adsorption occurs at pH 2 for ZC and ZFA and at pH 3 for OB. The optimum contact times for CZ, OB, and GASP occur at 30, 60, and 120 minutes, respectively. Based on the study on the effect of initial concentration, the values of qm for GASP and MZ-PPy were 25.5102 mg/g and 303.0303 mg/g, respectively
