Abstract
Jagung (Zea mays L.) merupakan salah satu tanaman pangan di Indonesia yang memiliki peranan strategis dan bernilai ekonomis. Oleh karena itu, dibutuhkan teknologi penanganan pascapanen yang dapat meminimalisir tingkat kehilangan hasil pada proses pemipilan jagung yaitu dengan cara menambah lapisan karet pada stator. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis pengaruh penambahan lapisan karet pada stator dan variasi diameter tongkol jagung terhadap kinerja mesin pemipil jagung tipe DMP J-2, dan menganalisis pengaruh penambahan lapisan karet pada stator dan variasi diameter tongkol jagung terhadap kualitas hasil pipilan jagung. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) Faktorial dengan 2 faktor. Faktor 1 yaitu penambahan lapisan karet pada stator. Faktor 2 yaitu variasi diameter tongkol jagung, dengan diameter tongkol besar ≥4,71 cm, sedang ˂4,71 s.d ˃4,105 cm dan kecil ≤4,105 cm. Kinerja mesin pemipil menghasilkan kapasitas pemipilan jagung besar tanpa dan dengan penambahan lapisan karet yaitu 231,912 kg/jam dan 281,202 kg/jam. Kapasitas jagung terpipil jagung besar tanpa dan dengan penambahan lapisan katet yaitu 175,160 kg/jam dan 221,803 kg/jam. Persentase biji jagung tidak terpipil jagung besar tanpa dan dengan penambahan lapisan katet yaitu 34,069% dan 14,218%. Efisiensi pemipilan jagung besar tanpa dan dengan penambahan lapisan katet yaitu 65,931% dan 85,782%. Hasil persentase biji jagung rusak jagung besar tanpa dan dengan penambahan lapisan karet yaitu 0,794% dan 0,575%. Persentase berat kotoran jagung besar tanpa dan dengan penambahan lapisan karet yaitu 0,158% dan 0,078%.
English Abstract
Corn (Zea mays L.) is one of the food crops in Indonesia that has a strategic role and economic value. Therefore, the technology of postharvest handling is needed which can minimize the level of yield loss in the corn shelling process by adding a layer of rubber to the stator. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of adding stator rubber layer and variation of corn cob diameter on the performance of DMP J-2 type corn sheller machine, and to analyze the effect of adding rubber stator layer and variation of corn cob diameter on corn shell quality. This study used Factorial Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 2 factors. Factor 1 is the addition of a rubber layer to the stator. Factor 2 is the variation of the diameter of corn cobs, with a large cob diameter of 714.71 cm, medium 714.71 db ˃4.105 cm and small ≤4.105 cm. The performance of the shelling machine produces large corn shelling capacity without and with the addition of rubber layers, namely 231.912 kg / hour and 281.202 kg / hour. Large capacity corn shelled corn without and with the addition of a katet layer is 175.160 kg / hr and 221.803 kg / hr. The percentage of corn kernels is not squashed by large corn without and with the addition of a cathetic layer that is 34.069% and 14.218%. The efficiency of large corn shelling without and with the addition of a katet layer is 65.931% and 85.782%. The results of the percentage of corn seeds damaged by large corn without and with the addition of rubber layers are 0.794% and 0.575%. The weight percentage of large corn impurities without and with the addition of rubber layers is 0.158% and 0.078%
