Nurhutami, Shofie Rindi (2020) Studi Indeks Kualitas Tanah serta Bioindikator Kualitas Air di DAS Mikro Sisim Kota Batu. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.

Abstract

English Abstract

The Sisim Micro Watershed has an area of ± 933.17 Ha, located in Gunungsari, Tulungrejo, Punten, Songgokerto, Sumberejo Village Bumiaji District, Batu City which has experienced large-scale land use changes at the end of 1990s became agricultural land on any slopes. Soil Quality Index analysis and bioindicator analysis of water quality are needed to assess the effect of changes in land use. The Soil Quality Index (SQI) shows the ability of the soil to carry out its functions optimally. Bioindicator analysis of water quality is carried out by utilizing macroscopic river biota capable of responding to changes in water conditions. However, information regarding the SQI of agricultural land as well as the assessment of water quality bioindicators in the Sisim Micro Watershed area is not yet available so deeper analysis is needed. The purpose of this study is to analyze the Soil Quality Index (SQI) of agricultural land and analyze water quality conditions by utilizing water quality bioindicators in the Sisim Micro Watershed, Bumiaji District, Batu City. The study was conducted from May to August 2019 in the Sisim Micro Watershed, Batu City. This research method is a survey with descriptive analysis through field observation and laboratory analysis. This research uses 12 soil sampling plots namely forest plots (H2, H3, H4, H5), mixed gardens (KC2, KC3, KC4, KC5), fields (T2, T3, T4, T5) the numbers behind the code indicate slope; 2 (slope 8-15%), 3 (slope 15-25%), 4 (slope 25-40%), 5 (slope 40-60%). Biotilic sampling is based on the type of sources of pollution such as non-point source pollution (NPS) and point source pollution (PS) in the Sisim Micro Watershed. The SQI analysis was carried out using the Mausbach and Seybold method which was modified by Partoyo (2005) while the bioindicator analysis of water quality was carried out by the Rini (2011) method. The parameters measured include physical properties (bulk density, porosity, soil depth, and aggregate stability), chemistry (pH, C-Organic, total N, available P, and changeable K) as well as the type and amount of biotilic found. The results showed that the denser of the vegetation and the lower of the tillage have the better SQI. SQI values in the Sisim Micro Watershed have the highest value in plot H5 0.636 (good) and lowest in plot T5 0.327 (low). The results of the bioindicator of water quality indicate that the NPS outlet has a biotilic water pollution index of 1.97 (dirty water quality and pollution is rather severe). Medium soil quality with high agricultural intensity and community domestic waste causes the health condition of the habitat to be classified as unhealthy with a score of 1.9 and the substrate sufficient to support bioticic life with sufficient levels of human disturbance to the river.
