Abstract
Rumah bukan hanya sekedar tempat berteduh, beristirahat, dan berkumpul dengan keluarga namun rumah juga berfungsi untuk menghasilkan pendapatan dengan cara melihat memanfaatkan sumberdaya yang dimiliki. Dalam orientasi bermukim memiliki cara yang berbeda dalam mewujudkan keinginannya untuk memiliki rumah sendiri. Pada permukiman ini menikah menjadi salah satu awal dari terbentuknya orientasi bermukim. Berdasarkan pengalaman informan menunjukkan bahwa rumah memiliki nilai tidak hanya beupa fisik saja tetapi dari segi moneter dan non moneter. Selain itu, rumah dimanfaatkan sebagai peluang untuk memberikan penghasilan bagi pemiliknya. Hal ini merupakan wewenang bagi pemilik rumah yang memberikan keputusan secara utama. Bantaran sungai menjadi salah satu habitat manusia untuk bermukim. Hal ini didorong karena semakin bertambahnya penduduk sehingga membutuhkan ruang untuk betempat tinggal. Permukiman merupakan salah satu daerah tempat tinggal yang menjalin adanya interaksi manusia dengan lingkungannya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguraikan kondisi permukiman yang berada di wilayah bantaran sungai dan menjelaskan mengenai orientasi bermukim yang dialami oleh warga RT.04 di Jl. Terusan Kembang Turi, Kelurahan Jatimulyo, Kota Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Housing as a Process menurut John.FC.Turner yang dianalisis berdasarkan tiga hal yang melandasi konsep rumah sebagai suatu proses, yaitu: nilai rumah, fungsi ekonomi rumah, dan wewenang atas rumah. Metode yang digunakan adalah Kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan Fenomenologi. Teknik penentuan informan adalah snowball sampling. Adapun teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa orientasi bermukim yang dialami oleh warga hampir sama pada setiap individunya, dengan mengalami proses yang sama yaitu bersifat secara bertahap dan tergantung pada rezeki yang dimiliki.
English Abstract
The house is not only place to shelter, rest, and gather with family, but the house also serves to generate income by looking at the house also serve to generate income by looking at the resources that are alredy owned. In the orientation of living, they have different ways of realizing their desire to have their own home. In this study marriage became one of the beginning of the formation of life orientation. Based on the informant experience, it appears that the house has value not only in the form of material but also in monetary and nonmonetary terms. In addition, the house is used as an opportunity to provide income for the owner. This is the authority of the authority of the home owner who gives the main decision. Riverbanks become one of human habitats for living. This is driven by increasing population so that it requires space to live. Settlement is a residential area that establishes human interaction with the environtment. Therefore, this study aims to describe the condition of settlements in the riverbanks and identify the residence orientation experienced by residents of RT.04 in Jl. Terusan Kembang Turi, Jatimulyo Village, Malang City. This research uses the theory of Housing as a Process according to John.FC.Turner that underlines the concept of home as a process, namely: the value of the house, the economic function of the house, and authority over the house. The method used is qualitative by using a phenomenological approach. The technique of determining the informant is snowball sampling. As for data collection teqniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The result of this study indicate that the orientation of residence experienced by citizens is almost the same for each individual, by experiencing the same process that is gradual and depends on the sustenance owned.
