Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan antara perceived social support dan penyesuaian diri pada mahasiswa baru di perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif korelasional. Sampel yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa baru yang aktif di perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling yaitu accidental sampling, dengan sampel berjumlah 706 mahasiswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan dua instrumen penelitian, yaitu perceived social support dengan skala Multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) dan penyesuaian mahasiswa baru dengan skala Inventory of New College Student Adjustment (INCA). Uji hipotesis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pearson’s product moment. Nilai signifikansi sebesar 0.00 (p<0.05), yang artinya terdapat hubungan positif terhadap perceived social support dan penyesuaian diri mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi.
English Abstract
This research is aimed to identify the relationship between perceived social support and freshmen’s adjustment in the university. This study uses quantitative correlational approach. The samples used in this study was new students who were active in tertiary institutions. This study uses sampling technique namely accidental sampling with total 706 of college student. This research armed with two research instruments called perceived social support in multidimensional Scale of Perceived Social Support (MSPSS) in addition to the adjustment of the freshmen students using Inventory of New College Student Adjustment Scale (INCA) Hypotheses test used in this study was Pearson’s product moment. The significant value was 0.00 (p<0.05). This concluded that there was a positive relation towards perceived social support and college adjustment in the university.
