English Abstract
In recent years, the information communication and technology company has experienced rapid development by bringing up latest innovations. Latecomer companies have developed their innovations through expansion to cath up with developed country. This research is conducted to explain motivesfor international expansion by one of the Chinese company Huawei which is a part of emerging market economies. Huawei is one of global technology company which recently got political security issues. In 2012, Huawei expanded their company and its innovation with a substantial amount of investment costs in the United Kingdom. Therefore, this research is aim to indentify various motives behind Huawei expansion in United Kingdom by using the theory of international expansion motives springboard perspective from Yadong Luo & Rosalie L. Its international expansion motives consists of seven categories, which are; compensate competitive disadvantage, overcome latecomer disadvantage, counter-attack global rivals, outward investment to bypass trade barriers, allevative domestic instutional constraints, secure preferential treatment offered by home government, and exploit competitive advantages.
