Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis bagaimana terjadinya suatu praktik sosial dalam pengelolaan pariwisata Pulau Lusi. Pulau Lusi merupakan sebuah pulau buatan dari hasil reklamasi limbah lumpur Sidoarjo yang dibuang di Sungai Porong, dan saat ini merupakan destinasi pariwisata baru yang berada di Sidoarjo, tepatnya yakni Di Dusun Tlocor, Desa Kedungpandan, Kecamatan Jabon, Kabupaten Sidoarjo. Adanya fenomena sosial yang terjadi di Dusun Tlocor mengenai pengelolaan limbah di Dusun Tlocor memunculkan rutinitas baru yakni sebuah praktik sosial. Maka dalam penelitian ini menggunakan perspektif dari Anthony Giddens tentang Teori Strukturasi, sebagaimana menjelaskan mengenai terbentuknya suatau struktur yang ada pada rutinitas yang dilakukan berulangulang dalam lintas ruang dan waktu. Hubungan timbal balik antara agen dan struktur menyangkut keterlibatan warga dalam pengelolaan Pulau Lusi dengan mengacu tiga dimensi Anthony Giddens meliputi dominasi, signifikasi dan legitimasi serta kesadaran praktis agen melalui pengetahuan yang dimiliki dalam fenomena yang sedang terjadi. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa dengana adanya pengelolaan Pulau Lusi menjadi destinasi pariwisata mampu memunculkan praktik sosial terhadap warga Dusun Tlocor sebagai penyedia fasilitas pariwisata. Metode penelitian ditulisan ini menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, sebagaimana penulis ingin mendeskripsikan latar belakang terjadinya praktik sosial pengelolaan Pulau Lusi yang dilakukan oleh warga Dusun Tlocor. Hal tersebut dilakukan karena penelitian mengenai Pulau Lusi merupakan penelitian terbaru yang membahas tentang terjadinya pengelolaan pulau buatan. Teknik pengambilan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi memudahkan penulis untuk menggambarkan apa yang sedang terjadi di lapangan. Sehingga hasil penelitian kali ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya tindakan yang dilakukan oleh agen yakni Pokdarwis Dusun Tlocor yang memiliki hubungan timbal balik dengan struktur mampu membentuk praktik sosial pengelolaan Pulau Lusi sebagai destinasi parwisata, dan adanya praktik sosial tersebut mampu mereproduksi sebuah struktur baru di Dusun Tlocor yang berdampak pada warganya

English Abstract

This study analysed how social practices in the management of Lusi Island tourism occur. Lusi Island was artificial island which established as the effect of the reclamation Sidoarjo Mudflow Disaster which sewage sludge into Porong River had successfully guided to be the current tourist destination in Tlocor Hamlet,Kedungpandan Viallage, Jabon District, Sidoarjo Regency. The phenomena social in Tlocor Hamlet on waste management leads to many activities within the society surrounded Tlocor village called Social Practice. This research uses Anthony Gidden’s perspective on Structural Theory, which explained about the existing structure forming on the repetitive routines in space and time. The reciprocal relationship between agents and structures regarding the involvement of citizens in the management of Lusi Island by referring to the three dimensions of Anthony Giddens included domination, significance and legitimacy as well as practical awareness of agents through the knowledge possessed in the current phenomenon. This results show that Lusi Island management had successfully guided social practice of Tlocor society to be a provider of tourist facilities. This research written using descriptive qualitative research methods, as the author wanted to describe the background of the social practices of Lusi Island management carried out by residents of Tlocor Hamlet. This done because research on Lusi Island was the latest research that discusses the management of artificial islands. Data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation made it easy for writers to describe what was happening in there. So the results of this study indicate that the action taken by the agent namely Tlocor Hamlet Pokdarwis that had a reciprocal relationship with the structure which able to shape the social practices of managing Lusi Island as a tourism destination, and the existence of these social practices was capable of reproducing a new structure in the Tlocor Hamlet that had an impact to its citizens
