Abstract
Balita sering mengalami masalah gizi dengan berat badan kurang atau berada dibawah garis merah (BGM) jika dilihat dari Kartu Menuju Sehat (KMS). Berbagai penyebab dapat mengakibatkan terjadinya BGM pada balita. Salah satunya ialah peran ibu tidak bekerja dalam pengasuhan balita. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan memahami peran pada ibu tidak bekerja terhadap kondisi balita bawah garis merah (BGM) di wilayah kerja Puskesmas Janti, Kota Malang. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian kualitatif dengan wawancara mendalam dua informan yaitu informan kunci dan informan pendukung. Hasil penggalian data dianalisis menjadi bentuk transkrip yang seterusnya diberikan kode dan dikategorikan sehingga pada akhirnya menemukan tema yang menjadi hasil dari penelitian. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwasanya peran ibu terhadap balita BGM ialah sebagai tokoh utama terkait tindakan yang berhubungan dengan perhatian dan kasih sayang serta sebagai pengasuh utama dalam usahanya memenuhi kebutuhan asupan dan mencari informasi yang berkaitan dengan gizi balita BGM. Ketika menghadapi kondisi BGM, ibu lebih memperhatikan balita dengan memberikan kasih sayang sepenuhnya. Ibu juga mencoba memenuhi kebutuhan makan dengan mencari informasi ke pelayanan kesehatan terkait makanan yang tepat untuk mengatasi BGM. Sehingga dapat ditarik kesimpulan bahwa peran ibu tidak bekerja menghadapi balita BGM ialah memberikan perhatian dan kasih sayang serta memenuhi kebutuhan asupan balita BGM.
English Abstract
Toddler often suffer from nutrition problems with underweight or below the red line that can be seen from Kartu Menuju Sehat (KMS) as a child development chart notes. Several factors affect the underweight condition or BGM. One of them is the role of non-working mothers in taking care of their child. This research aims at knowing and understanding the role of non-working mothers towards the children below the red line (BGM) in the working area of the Janti Puskesmas, Malang. This research used a qualitative research design with a depth interview towards two informants, those were key informants and supporting informants. The result of collecting the data was analyzed into transcription form which given codes and categorized to get the result of the research’s theme. The result of the study revealed that the role of the mothers toward the underweight toddler (BGM) is the main characters that giving the attention and affection dealing with the BGM condition and also as the primary caregiver along with the efforts of fulfil the intake needs and search for the information related to underweight children’s nutrition. In facing the BGM condition, mothers give more attention by giving full love. Mothers also try to fulfil the needs by searching the information to the health service related to the proper foods for resolving the BGM condition. So, it can be concluded that the role of the non-working mother against the children with BGM is to give attention, affection, and fulfil the intake needs.
