Abstract

English Abstract

This type of research is observational descriptive research. Respondents in the study, were all nurses who worked at the IGD Saiful Anwar Hospital (RSSA) Malang. Sampling with consecutive sampling totaling 70 nurses. Data were collected through a questionnaire to obtain descriptive data regarding nurses' knowledge and skills as well as observational about the implementation of the six (6) rights principles in medication. From the results of the study showed that most IGD nurses have good knowledge and skills in applying the six rights principles in medication. From the observational results most of the emergency room nurses were unable to calculate the exact dose of the drug. From the analysis of the relationship of knowledge and skills with the implementation of the six rights principles in medication using the spearman rank found that there is a correlation between the knowledge of the 6 principles of true drugs of 0.491 (r = 0.491) with a significance value of 0,000 (p <0.05), so it can be concluded that there is a correlation significant positive. The closeness of the correlation of knowledge with the implementation of six rights principles in medication is correct at 44%, the higher the knowledge, the right implementation of the medicine. The correlation coefficient between the right skills with the drug is 0.378 (r = 0.378) with a significant value of 0.000 (p <0.005), so it can be concluded that a significant positive correlation was found. The closeness of the correlation between the skill and the right medicine is 37.8%, the higher the skill, the higher the implementation of the six rights principles in medication.
