Abstract
Kebersihan gigi dan mulut merupakan faktor penting yang harus diperhatikan dalam pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut. Faktor resiko terjadinya penyakit infeksi pada gigi dan mulut salah satunya adalah oral hygiene yang buruk, untuk itu perlu adanya peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan untuk mencegah terjadinya penyakit infeksi pada gigi dan mulut terutama pada anak usia sekolah.Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penyuluhan menggunakan metode peer role play terhadap pengetahuan dan keterampilan oral hygiene anak usia sekolah. Desain penelitian menggunakan Pre experimental One group pre-post test without control group. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh siswa kelas IV dan V SD Margo Basuki 1 Kota Malang. Tehnik sampling dalam penelitian ini adalah total sampling dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 38 responden, pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dan lembaran observasi. Analisis statistik menggunakan uji statistik Wilcoxon rank signed test di dapatkan p-value = 0,000. Kesimpulan penelitian yaitu ada pengaruh signifikan penyuluhan menggunakan metode peer role play terhadap pengetahuan dan keterampilan oral hygiene anak usia sekolah. Rekomendasi dari penelitian ini adalah perawat UKS/UKGS dapat mengembangkan program pendidikan kesehatan menggunakan peer role play sebagai salah satu metode untuk mengedukasi anak usia sekolah tentang pemeliharaan kesehatan, termasuk kesehatan gigi dan mulut.
English Abstract
Dental hygiene and mouth are important factors that must be considered in the maintenance of dental and oral health. Risk factors for infection of the tooth and mouth one of them is poor oral hygiene, so it is necessary to increase the knowledge and skills to prevent the occurrence of infectious diseases in the tooth and mouth especially in children aged School..The purpose of this research was to know the influence of counseling using peer role play methods to the knowledge and skills of oral hygiene of school aged children. Design research used pre experimental One Group pre-post test without control group. The population of research was the entire student of grade IV and V SD Margo Basuki 1 Malang City. Sampling techniques In this study were total sampling with a sample number of 38 respondents, data collection used questionnaires and observation sheets. Statistical analysis used Wilcoxon's rank signed test was to get p-value = 0.000. The research conclusion is that there was a significant influence of counseling used peer role play methods to the knowledge and skills of oral hygiene of school aged children. Recommendations from the research are that UKS/UKGS nurses can develop health education programs using peer role play as one method to educate school age children about health care, including dental and oral health.
