Abstract
Sistem kerja paddy husker yang banyak beredar saat ini masih manual yaitu menggunakan pegas sebagai pemberi tekanan pada rol dan jarak antara rol diatur oleh operator. Ada kemungkinan faktor kelalaian yang berdampak pada semakin banyaknya jumlah beras yang patah. Salah satu solusi untuk mengatasi hal tersebut adalah alat paddy husker dengan teknologi pneumatik. Tekanan yang diberikan oleh sistem pneumatik ini bersifat konstan sehingga mutu dari hasil pengupasan konsisten dan penggunaannya menjadi mudah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji tekanan udara yang diberikan dan kapasitas masukan bahan sehingga dapat menghasilkan kualitas hasil terbaik. Penelitian dilakukan dengan metode deskriptif dengan dua factor, yaitu variasi tekanan rol 1 kg/cm2, 1,5 kg/cm2 dan 2 kg/cm2, dan bukaan pengumpanan bahan diatur pada level 3 dan 4 dengan masing-masing bahan uji 100 kg gabah varietas Ciherang. Waktu diatur 1 menit agar dapat diketahui kapasitasnya. Hasil pengupasan diambil sampel 100 g dari setiap perlakuan untuk diuji kualitas hasil pengupasan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa berdasarkan parameter pengukuran, persentase beras pecah kulit utuh tertinggi ada pada variasi tekanan 1,5 kg/cm2 dan bukaan pengumpanan level 3 yaitu 83,85% yang memiliki efisiensi pengupasan 92,74%, kapasitas pengumpanan 4413,39 kg/jam dan kebutuhan biaya Rp. 5638,46 dalam 1 jam produksi.
English Abstract
The paddy husker working system that is widely circulating at this time is still manual, namely using a spring as a pressure gauge on the rollers and the distance between the rollers is regulated by the operator. This means that there is a possible factor of negligence which has an impact on the increasing number of broken rice. One solution to overcome this problem is paddy husker with pneumatic technology. Pneumatic systems use air pressure to put pressure on the rollers during the husking process. The pressure provided by this pneumatic system is constant so the quality of the husking results is consistent and its use becomes easy. This study aims to examine the given air pressure and material input capacity so that it can produce the best quality results, namely the high amount of husked rice and the low number of broken. The study was conducted with a descriptive method with two factors. The first factor is roller pressure 1 kg/cm2, 1.5 kg/cm2 and 2 kg/cm2, while the second factor is the feeding openings arranged at level 3 and 4. Of the two combinations, 6 combinations of treatments were obtained and repeated 3 times with each test material was 100 kg of Ciherang varieties. Set a time of 1 minute so that its capacity can be known. Stripping results were taken 100 g of samples from each treatment to be tested for husking quality. From this study the results showed that based on the measurement parameters, the highest percentage of whole brown rice was at a pressure variation of 1,5 kg / cm2 and feed opening level 3 with the percentage 83,85% which had 92,74% efficiency of husking, 4413,39 kg / hour feeding capacity, and the cost of 1 hour production is Rp. 5638,46
