Abstract

Silase jerami jagung dengan penambahan aditif jus tape kulit nanas yang disimpan di dalam silo untuk menciptakan suasana anaerob diharapkan dapat meningkatkan populasi bakteri asam laktat (BAL) sehingga hijauan menjadi awet. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan level jus tape kulit nanas terhadap kualitas silase jerami jagung. Metode yang digunakan adalah percobaan dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Penelitian menggunakan empat perlakuan yang diulang sebanyak tiga kali sehingga didapatkan 12 unit percobaan. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini meliputi: P0 = jerami jagung + jus tape kulit nanas 0%, P1 = jerami jagung + jus tape kulit nanas 3%, P2 = jerami jagung + jus tape kulit nanas 6% dan P3 = jerami jagung + jus tape kulit nanas 9%. Data analisis menggunakan sidik ragam ANOVA dan uji lanjut ditentukan menurut koefisien keragaman (KK) dengan Uji Jarak Berganda Duncan. Hasil dari penelitian ini adalah penambahan jus tape kulit nanas mempengaruhi kualitas fisik silase, antara lain warna silase hijau kecoklatan, berbau asam dan tidak busuk, bertekstur agak keras, tidak ada lendir serta jamur. Penambahan jus tape kulit nanas sangat berpengaruh nyata (P<0,01) terhadap pH silase jerami jagung. Nilai akhir pH silase yakni P0 sebesar 4,63±0,06b, P1 sebesar 4,20±0,17ab, P2 sebesar 4,17±0,06a dan P3 sebesar 4,13±0,12a. Penambahan jus tape kulit nanas berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kandungan BK dan LK serta kehilangan berat PK silase jerami jagung. Sedangkan penambahan jus tape kulit nanas berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap kandungan PK serta kehilangan berat BK, BO dan SK silase jerami jagung. Namun penambahan jus tape kulit nanas tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap kandungan BO, SK dan kehilangan berat LK silase jerami jagung. Disimpulkan bahwa penambahan jus tape kulit nanas pada level yang berbeda mempengaruhi kualitas fisik silase jerami jagung dibandingkan dengan perlakuan kontrol. Semakin banyak penambahan jus tape kulit nanas mempengaruhi kualitas nutrisi silase jerami jagung antara lain kandungan protein kasar dan lemak kasar mengalami pertambahan serta kandungan serat kasar mengalami pengurangan. Silase jerami jagung dengan perlakuan P2 (jerami jagung + 6% jus tape kulit nanas) dan P3 (jerami jagung + 9% jus tape kulit nanas) menunjukkan hasil pH terbaik yaitu berturut-turut 4,17 dan 4,13. Saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya yakni perlu dilakukan penelitian lebih lanjut tentang kecernaan silase jerami jagung dengan penambahan jus tape kulit nanas baik secara in vitro ataupun in vivo.

English Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate the effect of pineapple skin tape juice towards the maize plant silage’s quality. The method used in this research was experimental with 4 treatments based on level of pineapple skin tape juice addition, consists of P0 = maize plant + pineapple skin tape juice 0%, P1 = maize plant + pineapple skin tape juice 3%, P2 = maize plant + pineapple skin tape juice 6%, P3 = maize plant + pineapple skin tape juice 9%, and 3 replications. Data was analyzed using ANOVA for Completely Randomized Design (CRD) and continued by Duncan’s Multiple Range Test (DMRT) based on the Coefficient of Variation. The result of this research was the addition of pineapple skin tape juice improved the silage’s physical quality (silage colour was green-brownish, the smell was acid, the texture was rather hard and there was no mucus also fungi). The addition of pineapple skin tape juice had very significant effect in silage’s pH (P<0.01). The addition of pineapple skin tape juice had significant effect (P<0.05) in the dry matter and crude fat of silage. Meanwhile the addition of pineapple skin tape juice had very significant effect (P<0.01) in the crude protein of silage. However the addition of pineapple skin tape juice had no significant effect (P>0.05) in the organic matter and crude fiber. It was concluded that the addition of pineapple skin tape juice in various level effected silage’s physical quality, accelerated the decline of silage’s pH, maintained the silage’s nutrition content and the best treatment was P2 and P3. The suggestions for the next research needs to be carried out on the digestibility of pineapple skin tape juice addition in maize plant silage, either in vitro or in vivo.
