Abstract

Ketersediaan hijauan terutama rumput mengalami beberapa kendala disebabkan oleh tingkat produksi yang rendah pada saat musim kemarau. Maka dari itu perlu dilakukan subtitusi pakan dengan memanfaatkan limbah pertanian. Kulit singkong merupakan limbah pertanian yang ketersediannya melimpah serta dapat diolah menjadi bahan pakan ternak. Produksi gas merupakan hasil proses fermentasi yang terjadi di dalam rumen yang dapat menunjukkan aktivitas mikroba didalam rumen serta menggambarkan banyaknya bahan organik yang tercerna. Selain itu produksi gas yang dihasilkan dari pakan yang difermentasi dapat mencerminkan kualitas pakan tersebut. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada bulan Februari – Maret 2019 di Laboratorium Nutrisi dan Makanan Ternak, Fakultas Peternakan Universitas Brawijaya. . Tujuan Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi dan mengetahui level optimal pemanfaatan limbah kulit singkong untuk subtitusi rumput odot terhadap konsentrasi amonia (NH3), nilai energi dan sintesis protein mikroba secara in vitro. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) dengan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan menggunakan cairan rumen sapi. Perlakuan penggunaan kulit singkong kering yang dilakukan adalah P0 (70% rumput odot + 30% gamal), P1 (65% rumput odot + 30% gamal + 5% kulit singkong), P2 (60% rumput odot + 30% gamal + 10% kulit singkong), dan P3 (55% rumput odot + 30% gamal + 15% kulit singkong). Data analisis menggunakan analysis of varians (ANOVA) dilakukan jika ada perbedaan yang nyata atau sangat nyata, selanjutnya dianalisis dengan Uji Beda Nyata Terkecil (UBNT). Hasil analisis penelitian menunjukkan bahwa persentase penggunaan kulit singkong kering sebagai subtitusi pakan ternak memberikan pengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap nilai metabolizable energy (ME) dan nett energy (NE). Nilai metabolizable energy (ME) P0 (11,16+0,28 MJ/ Kg BK), P1 (11,30+0,35 MJ/ Kg BK), P2 (10,90+0,29 MJ/ Kg BK) dan P3 (10,25+0,95 MJ/ Kg BK). Nilai nett energy (NE) P0 (6,86+0,20 MJ/ Kg BK), P1 (6,95+0,26 MJ/ Kg BK), P2 (6,68+0,20 MJ/ Kg BK) dan P3 (6,21+0,67 MJ/ Kg BK). Pada kadar konsentrasi amonia (NH3) memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P<0,05) dengan kadar konsentrasi amonia (NH3) antar perlakuan dengan nilai P0 (9,63+1,20mM), P1 (10,09+1,17mM), P2 (8,74+0,88mM) dan P3 (7,97+0,85mM). Sintesis protein mikroba memberikan pengaruh yang nyata (P<0,05) P0 (45,03+1,23 g N/kg BOTR), P1 (45,49+0,70 g N/kg BOTR), P2 (44,15+1,05 g N/kg BOTR) dan P3 (43,09+1,43 g N/kg BOTR). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan level optimal subtitusi kulit singkong kering terhadap konsentrasi amonia (NH3), nilai energi dan sintesis protein mikroba tertinggi pada perlakuan P1 yaitu subtitusi kulit singkong sebesar 5%.

English Abstract

The purpose of this research was to know the effect of dwarf elephant grass subtitution with dry cassava peel on NH3 Concentration, Energy Value, and Microbial Protein Synthesis by in vitro. Material used dry cassava peel added to substitute dwarf elephant grass. The method used was experimental and it was arranged in a randomized block design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment were T0= 70% dwarf elephant grass + 30 % gliricidia, T1= 65% dwarf elephant grass + 30 % gliricidia + 5% cassava peel, T2= 60% dwarf elephant grass + 10% cassava peel + 30 % gliricidia, T3= 55% dwarf elephant grass + 15% cassava peel + 30 % gliricidia. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA) and if there was significant effect between treatment be continued with least significant different (LSD). The result showed that the treatments were not significant different (P>0.05) to Energy Value. The result showed that the treatments were significant different (P<0.05) to NH3 concentration and Microbial Protein Synthesis. The highest energy value, NH3 concentration and microbial protein synthesis were in T1 optimal that added cassava peel 5%. Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that subtitution dry cassava peel level does not affect the energy values, but it gives an influence on NH3 concentration and microbial protein protein synthesis. The subtitution 5% cassava peel is the optimal level of utilization of cassava peel.
