Abstract
Telah dilakuan pengujian korosi pada baja AISI 316L yang mengalami karburising padat selama 12, 16, 20 dan 24 jam dengan variasi temperatur 400, 500 dan 600 dengan tujuan menganalisa morfologi, laju korosi dan mengetahui jenis korosi. Pengujian korosi dilakukan di ruangan tertutup pada rentang waktu 2, 4, 6, 8 minggu dengan menggunakan air laut sebagai media pengkorosi. Berdasarkan hasil percobaan diketahui bahwa semua sampel baja AISI 316L mengalami pitting corrosion dan batas butir. adapun laju korosi menggunakan metode kehilangan berat diperoleh hasil laju korosi rendah dengan nilai 0,012 mm/y – 0,137 mm/y. hal ini dikarenakan adanya lapisan Cr yang hanya sedikit saja berubah menjadi kromium karbida pada proses pemanasan. Seiring bertambahnya lama perendaman diperoleh laju korosi yang meningkat meskipun beberapa spesimen mengalami fluktuasi laju korosi.
English Abstract
Corrosion testing on AISI 316L steel which has undergone solid carburising for 12, 16, 20 and 24 hours with temperature variations of 400, 500 and 600 with the aim of analyzing morphology, corrosion rate and knowing the type of corrosion. Corrosion testing was carried out in a closed room at a time span of 2, 4, 6, 8 weeks using sea water as a corrosion medium. Based on the experimental results it is known that all samples of AISI 316L steel experienced pitting corrosion and grain boundaries. As for the corrosion rate using the method of weight loss obtained a low corrosion rate with a value of 0.012 mm / y - 0.137 mm / y. this is due to the Cr layer which only changes to chromium carbide in the heating process. As immersion time increases, the corrosion rate is increased even though some specimens experience corrosion rate fluctuations.
