English Abstract

Natural disasters can occur suddenly. For example, a disaster in the form of an earthquake, it is impossible to predict accurately the location of the source, the magnitude of its strength, and its exact time. On the other hand, there are some natural disasters that can be predicted beforehand, such as landslides, floods, weather anomalies, and so on. Regardless of the presence or absence of information regarding the emergence of a disaster, disasters always have a shock effect and many losses, both material losses and non-material losses. Floods is a type of disaster that most often occurs in developing countries, as is often the case in large cities in Indonesia. Floods can occur due to high rainfall in the long term and poor irrigation systems. One of the flood mitigation measures that can be carried out is, among others, a control system for groundwater absorption. Control of infiltration of ground water can be done by using a biopore infiltration hole system. Biopore infiltration holes are artificial holes that are inside the soil surface that are made to increase the absorption area of water media, and indirectly help the flood disaster mitigation process. The presence of biopore infiltration holes will directly add to the water absorption field. Biopori applies the principle of infiltration, where in this principle the process of entering water from the surface (surface) into the soil is reviewed.
