Abstract

Kemampuan preparasi gigi penyangga untuk gigi tiruan jembatan membutuhkan pengalaman pada masa preklinik & klinik kedokteran gigi. Dalam masa preklinik pelatihan didapatkan melalui kegiatan skills lab menggunakan media pembelajaran berupa model gigi buatan pabrik. Media tersebut belum sepenuhnya mampu menggambarkan kondisi gigi yang sesungguhnya sehingga terdapat perbedaan kemampuan preparasi masa preklinik & klinik. Dibutuhkan sebuah media pembelajaran baru yang dapat mempresentasikan keadaan gigi yang sebenarnya, dalam pembuatannya dibutuhkan duplikasi terutama pada sifat mekanik, salah satunya yaitu kekuatan tekan. Kekuatan tekan merupakan kemampuan gigi-geligi untuk menahan gaya tekan akibat mastikasi di dalam rongga mulut. Self-cured acrylic merupakan bahan yang dapat dimanfaatkan dalam pembuatan media tersebut. Material tersebut merupakan bahan restorasi sementara indirek fixed prosthodontics, stabilitas & estetika warna serupa dengan gigi,memenuhi persyaratan biologis,mekanis dan fonetik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kekuatan tekan antara model gigi berbahan Self-cured Acrylic , model gigi buatan pabrik dan enamel gigi manusia. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Observational Analytic dengan rancangan penelitian Comparative Study Design. Hasil uji oneway anova yaitu menunjukkan p = 0,476 dimana p > 0,05 yang berarti tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan kekuatan tekan antara model gigi berbahan self-cured acrylic , model gigi buatan pabrik dan enamel gigi manusia. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah model gigi berbahan self-cured acrylic memiliki nilai yang mampu bersaing dengan model gigi buatan pabrik & bisa disarankan sebagai media baru pembelajaran keterampilan klinis prostodonsia.

English Abstract

The ability to prepare supporting teeth for bridge dentures requires an experience in the preclinical & clinic phase. During the pre-clinical phase, training was obtained through skills lab activities using a learning media including factory-made dental models. Last studies showed that this media not completely presented an actual situation in oral cavity, therefore still any differences ability between preclinical & clinical phase . A new learning media is needed to present the actual state of the teeth in oral cavity. To make a new learning media, it requires duplication in mechanical properties especially compressive strength. Compressive strength is the ability of the teeth to hold the compressive force of mastication in the oral cavity. Self-cured Acrylic is one of material that can be considered to making these media. The material is used as a temporary restoration of fixed prostodontic indirect materials, stable, aesthetic, color similiar with teeth, and fulfilling biological mechanical and phonetic requirements. The aim of this study is to determine the magnitude and differences between compressive strength of self-cured acrylic based dental models, factory-made dental models and human tooth enamel as a basis to form a new learning media for prosthodontics clinical skills. This research uses an Observational Analytic approach with Comparative Study Design. Oneway anova test results showed that p = 0.476 where p> 0.05, which means there was no significant differences in the value of compressive strength between self-cured acrylic based dental models, factory-made models and human tooth enamel. The conclusion of this study is that the self-cured acrylic based dental models has a value which be able to competend with factory-made dental models and can be suggested as a new learning media for prosthodontics clinical skills.
