Agistasari, Yessy (2019) Perbandingan Antara Gel Getah Batang Tanaman Yodium (Jatropha Multifida L.) Dan Gel Aloe Vera Terhadap Kepadatan Serabut Kolagen Pada Penyembuhan Luka Pasca Gingivektomi Tikus Wistar (Rattus Norvegicus). Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Background: Gingivectomy causes wound that would involve wound healing process on the tissue. One of the important stages of wound healing process after gingivectomy is the formation of collagen fibers. Iodine plant stem sap gel (Jatropha multifida L.) contains bioactive alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins, and tannins which play a role in the process of wound healing. Aloe vera contains tannin and acemanan which can increase the migration of macrophages and can accelerate wound healing. Purpose: to determine the difference between iodine plant stem sap gel (Jatropha multifida L.) and Aloe vera gel on the process of forming collagen fibers in gingival wound healing after gingivectomy. Methodes: The subjects of the study were 24 Rat norvegicus rats divided into positive control groups (Aloe vera gel), P1 (2.5% iodine plant stem sap gel), P2 (iodine plant stem sap gel 5%), P3 (iodine plant stem sap gel 10 %). The test gel in each group was applied to the wound area after gingivectomy twice a day. Observation of the wound healing process was carried out on the 3rd and 7th day by making gingival histology preparations for the injured area. To see the density of collagen fibers, preparations were made by painting Masson’s Trichrome. Result: The Kruskall-Wallis test results showed no significant difference in the mean score of density of collagen fibers between the positive control group and the treatment group (p> 0.05). Conclusion: there is no difference between iodine plant stem sap gel (Jatropha multifida L.) and Aloe vera gel to density of collagen fibers after gingivectomy of wistar rat.
