Alwy, Muhammad (2019) Adsorpsi Zn(II) Mengunakan Adsorben Kitosan Mikro Partikel. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
In this study, modifications of chitosan adsorbent have been made to micro particles chitosan to increase the ability of adsorption to Zn(II) ions. The ability of chitosan micro particles adsorption on Zn(II) ions was carried out by determining optimum adsorption conditions including: pH and contact time. Determination of optimum pH was carried out with variations in pH 3, 4, 5, and 6, while the optimum determination of contact length was carried out with contact length variations of 30, 60, 90, and 120 minutes. Furthermore, optimum adsorption conditions were used to determine the adsorption capacity of micro chitosan particles by varying Zn(II) ions 100, 125, 150, 175 mg / L. Based on the characterization using FTIR spectra in general there was no change in functional groups from chitosan to micro chitosan particles, but this modification was only affected by morphology and particle size according to the results of SEM analysis. The optimum conditions for the adsorption of Zn(II) ions using micro chitosan particles occurred at pH 5 with an adsorption process of 58.21% and the optimum contact time occurred at 90 minutes with an adsorption process of 86.90%. The capacity of micro-chitosan adsorption on Zn(II) ions was 22.39 mg / L.
