Abstract
Perilaku konformitas merupakan perubahan perilaku sebagai usaha untuk menyesuaikan diri dari norma dengan acuan baik ada maupun tidak ada tekanan secara langsung yang berupa suatu tuntutan tidak tertulis dari kelompok sebaya terhadap anggotanya. Namun memiliki pengaruh kuat dan dapat menyebabkan munculnya perilaku-perilaku tertentu pada anggotanya. Organisasi Debat Diplomasi (ODD) Malang merupakan pendidikan simulasi atau kegiatan akademik dimana mahasiswa dapat belajar tentang diplomasi, hubungan internasional, dan PBB serta melakukan kegiatan delegasi di berbagai daerah maupun negara. Aktivitas kelompok ini menyebabkan interaksi sosial anggota kelompok menjadi lebih luas. Hal ini sedikit banyak menyebabkan bentuk perilaku konformitas antara anggota Kelompok ODD Malang dengan anggota kelompok lainnya. Salah satu bentuk perilaku konformitas tersebut adalah kebiasaan minum-minuman beralkohol pada beberapa anggotanya. Oleh sebab itu, penelitian ini ingin mengetahui bagaimana perilaku konformitas diantara anggota kelompok ODD Malang dalam perilaku minum-minuman beralkohol. Teori yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah konsep Konformitas, Konsep Perilaku Menyimpang, dan Konsep Komunitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Pengambilan data dilakukan kepada tiga subjek anggota kelompok ODD Malang dengan menggunakan teknik pemilihan informan purposive, menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data wawancara dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perilaku konformitas diantara anggota kelompok ODD Malang bergantung pada siapa dan bagaimana proses pengaruh sosial itu dilakukan pada tiap-tiap anggota. Tidak ada permintaan langsung untuk mengikuti apa yang telah diperbuat oleh kelompok tetapi didorong oleh keinginan individu itu sendiri, dimana kelompok tersebut tidak memiliki suatu hak yang spesial untuk mengarahkan tingkah laku individu tersebut. Sehingga perilaku minum-minuman beralkohol yang dilakukan anggota ODD didasarkan karena pilihan masing-masing anggota. Oleh karenanya, perilaku konformitas anggota ODD Malang dalam mengkonsumsi minuman beralkohol menghasilkan proses konformitas dan non-konformitas.
English Abstract
Conformity Behavior is a change of behavior, in which in this case the members of Debate and Diplomacy Organization (ODD) Malang conform themselves as an effort to adjust with the norms that exists within the society of the debate and diplomacy activity, referring to the existence or the non-existence of direct pressure taking the form of an implied demand from the preexisting members of the society to the members yet has a strong influence and may cause the emergence of certain behaviors between the members of the ODD Malang. Debate and Diplomacy Organization is an organization that serves as an education platform for diplomacy, international relations, and United Nations simulation in which the members participate in the delegating activity in various regions or countries. The activity of this organization incites the expansion of social interactions between members, in which it causes a certain conformity behavior between members of the organization and the members of ODD from other regions. One of the conformity behaviors that can be seen in the ODD is the alcoholic beverage consumption habit of its members. Therefore, this study inspects the conformity behavior between members of the ODD in alcoholic beverage consumption. The theory that is used in this study is the Conformity Concept, Deviant Behavior Concept, and Community Concept. This study uses the Descriptive Qualitative Approach. Data Collection is collected from three subjects from the members of the ODD using the Purposive Sampling to select the informants, and interview and observation for the data collection. The result of this study unfolds that the conformity behavior between the members of the ODD depends on who and how the social influence process is being done to each members. There is no direct request or instruction to follow what has been regularly done by the preexisting members of the organization, yet the behavior impulses itself from each of the members’ self-consciousness, where the organization and/or its members do not have the authority nor special rights to direct or dictate any behavior of its members. Hence, the alcoholic beverage consumption behavior that has been regularly done by the members of the ODD is based on each of the members’ conscious decision. Therefore, the conformity behavior of the members of the ODD Malang in alcoholic beverage consumption results in the conformity and non-conformity process.
