Abstract

Zinc Phosphate Cement merupakan semen kedokteran gigi yang memiliki sifat isolator yang baik, memiliki kemampuan melindungi pulpa dari rangsangan temperatur bila digunakan di bawah restorasi logam. Namun terdapat beberapa kekurangan dari Zinc Phosphate Cement yaitu pH nya yang iritatif terhadap pulpa, memiliki kemampuan anti bakteri yang lemah, serta mudah larut dalam cairan rongga mulut. Perekayasaan ukuran material menjadi skala nanometer diharapkan dapat mengurangi keasaman semen sehingga tidak mengiritasi pulpa, dapat memperbaiki sifat mekanis, sifat optis serta kinerja fungsional bahan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui perbedaan konduktivitas termal antara Nano Zinc Phosphate Cement dan Zinc Phosphate Cement Konvensional. Sampel Nano Zinc Phosphate Cement pada penelitian ini menggunakan bubuk hasil sintesis Nano Zinc Phosphate Cement dengan metode disk-milling yang dilakukan karakterisasi X—Ray Diffraction dan Particle Size Analyzer. Pengujian konduktivitas termal dilakukan dengan menggunakan pendekatan one dimension steady state. Pengujian dilakukan pada temperatur 40 dan 50 °C. Hasil uji konduktivitas termal pada penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara Nano Zinc Phosphate Cement dengan Zinc Phosphate Cement Konvensional. Didapatkan bahwa koefisien konduktivitas termal pada dua kelompok sampel Zinc Phosphate Cement Konvensional sebesar 21,7896-37,6460 W/mK dengan rata-rata sebesar 27,0900 W/mK. Pada dua kelompok sampel Nano Zinc Phosphate Cement didapatkan bahwa koefisien konduktivitas termal sebesar 28,2569-41,6001 W/mK dengan rata-rata sebesar 35,9097 W/mK. Nilai koefisien konduktivitas termal pada sampel Nano Zinc Phosphate Cement lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan Zinc Phosphate Cement Konvensional, sehingga Zinc Phosphate Cement Konvensional memiliki resistensi yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan Nano Zinc Phosphate Cement.

English Abstract

Zinc Phosphate Cement is a dental cement with good thermal insulator when used under metallic restorations. But there are several disadvantages of Zinc Phosphate Cement. These include lack of antibacterial effect, irritant to the pulp and also is soluble in the mouth. There are several properties improvement in nanoscale material such as mechanical, optical and wear properties. The acidity of the cement is expected to be less irritant to the pulp. The aim of this study was to evaluate the difference of thermal conductivity between Nano Zinc Phosphate Cement and Conventional Zinc Phosphate Cement. The Nano Zinc Phosphate Cement used in this study was a commercial Zinc Phosphate Cement that has been synthesized with disk-milling method and characterized with X—Ray Diffraction and Particle Size Analyzer. The coefficient of thermal conductivity was determined with one dimension steady state approach. The speciments were tested at two temperatures 40 and 50 °C. From the result of this research, it is apparent that there is a difference in thermal conductivity between Nano Zinc Phosphate Cement and Conventional Zinc Phosphate Cement. The coefficient of thermal conductivity of Conventional Zinc Phosphate Cement were found to be 21.7896-37.6460 W/mK and had an average thermal conductivity of 27.0900 W/mK. Meanwhile, the coefficient of thermal conductivity of Nano Zinc Phosphate Cement were found to be 28.2569-41.6001 W/mK and had an average thermal conductivity of 35.9097 W/mK. Thus it may be concluded that Nano Zinc Phosphate Cement has a higher coefficient of thermal conductivity than Conventional Zinc Phosphate Cement.
