Abstract

Populasi elang di Indonesia diketahui terus mengalami penurunan. Salah satu faktor penyebab penurunan populasi adalah kerusakan habitat elang. Faktor lain yang sangat berdampak adalah tingginya tingkat perdagangan ilegal. Upaya konservasi terus dilakukan oleh pemeritah Indonesia untuk menghindarkan kepunahan spesies ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui morfologi eritrosit pada Elang Laut Perut Putih dan Elang Hitam. Sampel darah diambil dari 3 ekor Elang Laut Perut Putih dan 3 ekor Elang Hitam di Eco Green Park, Batu. Preparat apus darah diwarnai dengan pewarnaan Giemsa. Pengamatan morfologi kualitatif dilakukan dengan mengamati bentuk dan warna sel. Pengukuran morfologi kuantitatif eritrosit berupa ukuran panjang dan lebar sel dilakukan menggunakan aplikasi ImageJ. Hasil pengukuran dibandingkan antara Elang Laut Perut Putih dan Elang Hitam dengan memperhatikan faktor jenis elang, perbedaan pakan serta aktivitas elang display dan foto, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji Independent sample T-test, uji Mann Whitney, dan Bivariate Pearson. Gambaran morfologi eritrosit elang hitam berbentuk oval cenderung bulat sedangkan pada elang laut perut putih oval memanjang. Hasil pengukuran morfologi sel pada elang hitam, panjang sel 13.44 ± 0.75 μm, lebar sel 7.73 ± 0.50 μm, panjang inti sel 6.48 ± 0.55 μm, sedangkan lebar inti sel 2.68 ± 0.32 μm. Hasil pengukuran pada elang Laut perut putih panjang sel 14.60 ± 0.85μm, lebar sel 7.88 ± 0.52 μm, panjang inti sel 6.92 ± 0.66 μm, sedangkan lebar sel 2.62 ± 0.33 μm. Perbedaan spesies dan jenis pakan memberikan pengaruh signifikan P<0,05 terhadap panjang, lebar dan inti eritrosit. Aktivitas tidak memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap morfologi eritrosit

English Abstract

The eagle population in Indonesia is known to continue to decline. One of the factors causing population decline is the destruction of eagle habitat. Another factor that has a profound effect is the high level of illegal trade. Conservation efforts continue to be carried out by the Indonesian government to avoid the extinction of this species. This study aims to determine the morphology of erythrocytes in the White Belly Sea Eagle and Black Eagle. Blood samples were taken from 3 White Belly Sea Eagle and 3 Black Eagle in Eco Green Park, Batu. Blood smear preparations are stained with Giemsa staining. Qualitative morphological observations were made by observing the shape and color of cells. Quantitative erythrocyte morphological measurements in the form of cell length and width measurements were performed using the ImageJ application. The measurement results were compared between the White Belly Sea Hawk and Black Hawk concerning eagle type factors, feed differences and display and photo eagle activity, then analyzed using the Independent sample T-test, Mann Whitney test, and Bivariate Pearson. The morphological features of oval erythrocytes in black oval shape tend to be round while in the white eagle the belly of the oval is elongated. The results of cell morphology measurements on the black eagle, cell length 13.44 ± 0.75 μm, cell width 7.73 ± 0.50 μm, cell core length 6.48 ± 0.55 μm, while cell core width 2.68 ± 0.32 μm. The results of measurements on white abdominal Sea eagle cell length are 14.60 ± 0.85μm, cell width is 7.88 ± 0.52 μm, cell core length is 6.92 ± 0.66 μm, while cell width is 2.62 ± 0.33 μm. Differences in species and types of feed provide a significant influence of P <0.05 on the length, width and erythrocyte core. The activity does not have a significant influence on the morphology of erythrocytes.
