Abstract
Semen seng fosfat adalah salah satu semen gigi yang sering digunakan sebagai basis untuk melindungi pulpa. Semen seng fosfat mempunya kelebihan yaitu tingkat kelarutannya sedang dan reaksi setting cepat. Namun, kelemahan semen seng fosfat adalah memiliki tensile strength yang cukup rendah dan memiliki sifat brittle. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui perbedaan diametral tensile strength semen seng fosfat nano dan semen seng fosfat konvensional. Penelitian ini termasuk penelitian eksperimental laboratoris dengan pendekatan posttest only control group design. Terdapat dua kelompok yang diuji yaitu kelompok semen seng fosfat konvensional dan semen seng fosfat nano. Masing masing kelompok memiliki 9 sampel berbentuk silindris dengan diameter 6 mm dan tebal 3 mm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa diametral tensile strength semen seng fosfat nano (rerata nilai diametral tensile strength: 1,76 MPa) lebih tinggi dibandingkan diametral tensile strength semen seng fosfat konvensional (rerata nilai diametral tensile strength: 1,04 MPa). Hasil uji statistik dengan Uji-T ((p) < 0,005) menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan nilai diametral tensile strength antara semen seng fosfat nano dan semen seng fosfat konvensional. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan dari penelitian ini bahwa diametral tensile strength semen seng fosfat nano lebih tinggi dibanding diametral tensile strength semen seng fosfat konvensional
English Abstract
Zinc phosphate cement is one of the dental cement which is often used as a base to protect the pulp. The advantage of zinc phosphate cement is moderate solubility and fast setting reaction. However, the weakness of zinc phosphate cement is that the tensile strength is quite low and brittle characteristic. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in diametral tensile strength of nano zinc phosphate cement and conventional zinc phosphate cement. This study’s type is experimental laboratory with a posttest only control group design. There were two groups tested, namely the conventional phosphate zinc cement group and nano zinc phosphate cement. Each group has 9 cylindrical shaped samples with 6 mm diameter and 3 mm diameter. The results showed that diametral tensile strength of nano zinc phosphate cement (mean diametric tensile strength: 1.76 MPa) was higher than conventional diametral tensile strength of zinc phosphate cement (mean diametric tensile strength: 1.04 MPa). The results of statistical tests with the T-Test ((p) < 0,005) show that there are differences of diametrial tensile strength between nano zinc phosphate cement and conventional zinc phosphate cement. So, it can be concluded from this study that diametral tensile strength of nano zinc phosphate cement is higher than diametral tensile strength conventional phosphate zinc cement
