Abstract
Zinc phosphate cement merupakan semen berbasis asam fosfat yang terdiri dari kalsium oksida dan asam fosfat. Zinc phosphate cement memiliki sifat mekanis yang rendah. Salah satu sifat mekanis pada zinc phosphate cement yaitu flexural strength, sifat mekanis yang rendah tersebut dapat ditingkatkan dengan mengubah ukuran partikel menjadi lebih kecil. Metode milling dipilih untuk mengubah bahan dengan partikel berukuran mikro menjadi partikel berukuran nano. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan flexural strength zinc phosphate cement nano dan flexural strength zinc phosphate cement konvensional. Dilakukan pembuatan sampel sejumlah 18 dengan masing-masing kelompok terdiri dari 9 sampel berukuran 25x2x2 mm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan flexural strength zinc phosphate cement nano dan flexural strength zinc phosphate cement konvensional. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah nilai flexural strength zinc phosphate cement nano lebih tinggi daripada nilai flexural strength zinc phosphate konvensional.
English Abstract
Zinc phosphate cement is phosphoric acid based cement consisting of calcium oxide and phosphoric acid. However, zinc phosphate cement has low mechanical properties. One of the mechanical properties of zinc phosphate cement is flexural strength, low mechanical properties can be changed by changing the size of the particles to be smaller. The milling method is chosen to convert materials microscale into nanoscale. This research aims to determine the differences between flexural strength zinc phosphate cement nano and flexural strength zinc phosphate cement conventional. 18 samples were made, each group consisted of 9 samples sized 25x2x2 mm. The results showed that there are differences between flexural strength of zinc phosphate cement nano and flexural strength of zinc phosphate cement conventional. The conclusion of this study is that the value of flexural strength of zinc phosphate cement nano is higher than the value of flexural strength of zinc phosphate cement conventional.
