Abstract

Perilaku merupakan semua aktivitas manusia baik yang dapat diamati langsung maupun yang tidak dapat diamati oleh orang lain , terdiri dari pengetahuan , sikap , dan tindakan. Nilai kebersihan gigi dan mulut penting untuk diketahui tiap individu. Selain nilai kebersihan gigi dan mulut , adanya pemberian penyuluhan pemeliharaan kesehatan gigi dan mulut berperan dalam upaya pencegahan terhadap terjadinya penyakit periodontal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penyuluhan perilaku kesehatan gigi dan mulut terhadap kesehatan jaringan periodontal menggunakan indeks CPITN pada siswa SMA. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian survei analitik. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 30 siswa yang berusia 16-17tahun. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner untuk melihat perilaku kesehatan gigi dan mulut siswa, serta pemeriksaan kesehatan jaringan periodontal menggunakan kaca mulut dan WHO probe. Analisis data menggunakan uji statistika Mann-Withney dan untuk melihat adanya hubungan antara faktor risiko dengan efek suatu penyakit dengan studi kohort. Hasil perhitungan statistik dengan Mann-Whitney menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan, sikap dan tindakan terhadap pemeliharaan kebersihan gigi dan mulut mempunyai hubungan signifikan terhadap status kesehatan periodontal dan dengan menggunakan perhitungan statistika kohort studi menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh yang memicu terjadinya penyakit periodontal. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah terdapat pengaruh penyuluhan perilaku kesehatan gigi dan mulut terhadap kesehatan jaringan periodontal dengan menggunakan indeks CPITN pada siswa SMA.

English Abstract

Behavior is all human activities that can be observed directly or that cannot be observed by others consisting of knowledge, attitudes, and practice. The value of oral and dental hygiene is important to know for each individual. In addition to the value of dental and oral hygiene, the provision of counseling to maintain dental and oral health plays a role in efforts to prevent the occurrence of periodontal disease. This study aims to determine the effect of counseling on oral and dental health on the health of periodontal tissue using the Community Periodontal Index of Treatment Needs (CPITN) in high school students. This research is analytic survey research. The study sample consisted of 30 students aged 16-17 years. The research was conducted using a questionnaire to see the behavior of dental and oral health of students, as well as health checks of periodontal tissue using the glass of the mouth and WHO probe. Data analysis using Mann-Whitney statistical test and to see the relationship between risk factors and the effect of an illness with a cohort study. The results of the Mann-Whitney statistical calculation showed that the variables of knowledge, attitudes and actions towards the maintenance of dental and oral hygiene had a significant relationship to periodontal health status and using statistical cohort calculations showed that there were influences that triggered periodontal disease. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of counseling on oral and dental health on the health of periodontal tissue using the CPITN index in high school students.
