Abstract
Metode estimasi usia akhir-akhir ini telah berkembang dan menjadi subyek utama dalam beberapa penelitian di bidang forensik dan radiologi. Estimasi usia digunakan sebagai alat identifikasi korban dalam kasus bencana massal ataupun pada kasus pemalsuan data diri dengan cara mengelompokkan usia korban. Gigi menjadi salah satu komponen dalam proses identifikasi karena memiliki beberapa keunggulan diantaranya tahan terhadap trauma fisik, termis dan dekomposisi serta dapat memperkirakan usia pada individu dari usia prenatal sampai dewasa. Metode yang paling mudah digunakan dan tidak destruktif terhadap jaringan gigi adalah metode atlas. Banyaknya metode estimasi usia yang menggunakan atlas membuat beberapa ahli forensik perlu menentukan mana metode yang terbaik dan paling akurat untuk digunakan. Selain itu perlu dipertimbangkan juga keakuratannya jika diterapkan pada subpopulasi tertentu. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat perbedaan estimasi usia antara metode Al Qahtani dengan metode Blenkin dan Taylor pada ras deutro melayu pasien RSUB. Penelitian ini menggunakan foto panoramik dan rekam medis pasien usia 6-12 tahun sebanyak 60 sampel (30 sampel laki-laki dan 30 sampel perempuan). Foto panormaik pasien dibandingkan dengan atlas pada masing-masing metode untuk mendapatkan usia estimasi. Hasil uji Paired T-Test menunjukkan tidak terdapat perbedaan estimasi usia antara metode Al Qahtani dan metode Blenkin dan Taylor (p>0,05). Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah tidak terdapat perbedaan estimasi usia antara metode Al Qahtani dan metode Blenkin dan Taylor.
English Abstract
Age estimation have developed and become the main subjects in several forensic and radiological studies. Age estimation used to identify victims in cases of mass disasters or in cases of forgery of personal data by grouping the age of the victim. Teeth is one of the component in the identification process because it has several advantages including being resistant to physical trauma, thermal and decomposition, and it can estimate the age of individuals from prenatal to adulthood. The most easy and not destructive to dental tissue is the atlas method. Some methods of age estimation using atlas make some forensic experts need to determine which method is the best and most accurate to use. In addition, accuracy must also be considered if applied to certain subpopulations. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there were differences in estimated age between the Al Qahtani method and the Blenkin and Taylor method in the deutro malay race, dental patients attending the Universitas Brawijaya hospital. The test sample was made up from medical records and panoramic radiograph of dental patients aged 6-12 years with total number 60 samples (30 males and 30 females). Panoramic radiographs of patients were compared with the atlas in each method to get the estimated age. The results of the Paired T-Test showed no significant difference in age estimation between the Al Qahtani method and the Blenkin and Taylor method (p> 0.05). The conclusion of this study is that there is no significant difference in age estimation between the Al Qahtani method and the Blenkin and Taylor method.
