Abstract
Etnobotani merupakan ilmu yang mendalami hubungan manusia dengan alam nabati dan tumbuhan khususnya tentang pemanfaatan umbi dan rimpang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui jenisjenis umbi dan rimpang, manfaat, serta mendeskripsikan bentuk karakter morfologi dari umbi dan rimpang yang ada di Pasar Besar Kota Malang. Metode yang digunakan meliputi studi pendahuluan, wawancara secara bebas dan semi struktural dilakukan kepada 35 responden yang meliputi 10 penjual, 20 pembeli dan 5 pengepul. Pengamatan karakter morfologi, serta analisa data menggunakan analisis kualitatif dan kuantitatif menggunakan UVs (use valueable). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian bahwa jenis-jenis umbi dan rimpang yang ditemukan di Pasar Besar sebanyak 29 spesies. Spesies umbi bagi masyarakat dimanfaatkan sebagai minuman, kosmetik dan perawatan tubuh yaitu (5%), bumbu (11%), makanan (82%), dan obat (88%). Sedangkan jenis rimpang dimanfaatkan sebagai minuman (33%), bumbu (42%), jamu (85%) dan obat (92%). Nilai UVs dari jenis-jenis umbi yang tertinggi atau disebut spesies penting yaitu bawang putih (3,6), bawang merah (3,5), kentang (3,2), dan bawang bombay, wortel, ketela, dan singkong memiliki nilai yang sama (3), sedangkan yang paling rendah atau spesies tidak penting yaitu uwi (1). Nilai UVs dari rimpang yang tertinggi yaitu rimpang kunyit dengan nilai UVs (3,1), sedangkan yang paling rendah yaitu temu giring dengan nilai UVs (1). Hal tersebut bahwa angka 3≤UVs≤6 termasuk nilai spesies penting atau spesies prioritas. Nilai ini menunjukkan bahwa jenis-jenis umbi dan rimpang tersebut banyak manfaatnya bagi masyarkat.
English Abstract
Ethnobotany is a science that explores human relations with plant, especially in this case is about the use of tubers and rhizomes. The aims of this study is to determine the benefit of type of tubers and rhizomes as well as to describe the morphological characteristicsin Pasar Besar, Malang. The method used includes preliminary studies, free and semi structural interviews conducted on 35 respondents including 10 sellers, 20 consumers and 5 collectors. Observation of morphological characteristics and data analysis was used as qualitative and quantitative analysis using UVs (use valueable). Based on the results of the study that the tubers and rhizomes found in the Pasar Besar were 29 species. Tuber species for the community are used as drinks, cosmetics, body care (5%), herbs (11%), food (82%), beauty (11%) and medicine (88%). While the type of rhizome is used as a drink (33%), seasoning (42%), herbal medicine (85%) and medicine (92%). The highest UVS of tubers or called important species, namely garlic 3.6; red onion with a value of (3.5), potatoes with a value of (3.2), while onions, carrots, sweet potatoes, and cassava have the same value of (3), while the lowest or unimportant species is uwi (1). The highest UVs value of the rhizome is turmeric rhizome with UVs value (3,1), while the lowest is temu giring with UVs (1). The UVs of rhizomes including important or priority species, namely turmeric rhizome with UVs value 3,1.That is, the number 3≤UVs≤6 includes the value of important species or priority species. This value indicates that the types of tubers and rhizomes have many benefits for the community.
