Abstract
Pertumbuhan penduduk yang meningkat diiringi dengan adanya peningkatan kepadatan lahan dan kebutuhan tempat tinggal yang dapat berisiko pada aspek fisik kawasan, khususnya pada permukiman padat Masyarakat Berpenghasilan Rendah (MBR) cenderung menjadi lingkungan yang kumuh. Oleh karena hal tersebut, pemerintah mendirikan hunian vertikal yaitu Rusunawa atau Rumah Susun Sederhana Sewa yang diperuntukkan khusus bagi MBR. Konsep hunian rusunawa tentunya berbeda dengan konsep hunian tapak yang sebelumnya ditinggali oleh MBR, sehingga hal ini menuntut penghuni untuk dapat beradaptasi terutama pada kondisi spasial ruang hunian seperti tata ruang yang sempit, kebutuhan sosial, keterbatasan ruang privasi dan estetika ruang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adaptasi spasial pada penghuni di Rusunawa Buring Malang. Adaptasi spasial penghuni rusunawa tersebut diteliti lebih lanjut melalui metode penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi fenomenologi. Informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah lima orang yang sebelumnya pernah tinggal di hunian tapak dengan lama tinggal di rusunawa minimal dua tahun. Penentuan informan diambil dengan menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dan teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah analisis data tematik Boyatzis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kelima informan menunjukkan perilaku adaptasi spasial pada aspek fleksibilitas seperti pengaturan maupun penyesuaian jumlah perabot dan pada aspek konvertibilitas seperti penambahan maupun pengalihan fungsi ruang pada hunian rusunawa. Sementara itu, pada aspek ekspansi seluruh informan tidak melakukan modifikasi fisik ruang, selain terdapat peraturan yang melarang, hunian yang terkotak-kotakkan tidak memungkinkan adanya perluasan hunian.
English Abstract
The increase in population is increasing at a high rate with increasing land density and the need for shelter which can affect the physical aspects of the area, especially in dense settlements Low-Income Communities (MBR) are increasingly becoming slums. Therefore, the government established a vertical housing, Rusunawa or Rumah Susun simple Sewa, which was designated specifically for MBR. The concept of rusunawa is different from the horizontal housing concept that was previously inhabited by MBR, so this requires residents to be able to focus on spatial space of occupancy such as suitable spatial planning, social needs, privacy space and space aesthetics. This study seeks to study the spatial adaptation of residents in Rusunawa Buring Malang. The spatial adaptation of the residents of this flat is further identified through qualitative research methods using phenomenological studies. The informants in this study studied five people who had previously lived in a dwelling with a minimum of two years in a flat. Determination of informants was taken using purposive sampling techniques and data collection techniques used through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data analysis technique used is Boyatzis thematic data analysis. The results showed that information on spatial adaptation in aspects such as the amount of furniture and in aspects of convertibility as needed also for the transfer of space functions in rusunawa. Meanwhile, in the aspect of expansion all informants did not make physical modifications to the space other than requiring regulations that forbid, compartmentalized housing did not allow for an increase in occupancy.
