Abstract
Penelitian tentang pemaknaan kritik sosial pada lirik lagu yang beredar terbatas menggunakan model semiotika dalam pembahasannya. Penelitian ini membahas analisis lirik lagu Efek Rumah Kaca berjudul jingga karena sarat dengan muatan HAM dan penggambaran tragedi ‘98. Pembahasan menggunakan model Roland Barthes sehingga mampu menempatkan isu tertentu dengan alokasi lebih besar daripada isu lain. Sehingga, peneliti menggunakan tiga unsur sebagai pendekatan, yaitu Denotation, Connotation, dan Myth. Hasil pembahasan bahwa lirik dimaknai sebagai alat untuk mengingat adanya kejadian dari tragedi HAM pada waktu itu, Efek Rumah Kaca ingin menggambarkan sebuah Aksi Diam atau yang disebut Aksi Kamisan, melalui musik pula bisa menjadi sebuah seruan, bukan menyuarakan aspirasi mereka, melainkan menggemakan suara yang sudah ada di dalam aksi diam. lirik tersebut hanya menjadi pengingat belaka bagi masyarakat atas suatu kejadian. Efek Rumah Kaca juga menginginkan masyarakat sekitar lebih peduli dan menolak lupa dengan adanya tragedi yang sampai saat ini masih belum usai.
English Abstract
Many scholars have been studying social critics amounted in a song. Yet, few of them use critical analysis as an approach. Hence, this research examines lyric “Jingga” written by Band Efek Rumah Kaca through text-Semiotic model. In addition, the research is limited to song “Jingga” as it thoroughly depict “tragedy 98” and human rights issue within. The author use Roland Barthes’ which exclusively highlight particular issue over the other. In this case, the author uses three variables to exercise the song, such as Denotation; Connotation; and Myth. In summary, the research found the song fits three variables required. The lyric could resemble victim’ family thought about Silent Action or so-called Kamisan rally. Through music it can also be an appeal, not only for their aspirations, but to echo the sounds that already been in Kamisan Act. However, the lyric merely reminder to the public of an incident. Efek Rumah Kaca also wants to the public to be more concerned and refuse to forget the tragedy that has not ended yet.
