Abstract

S.IP., M.DevSt. dan Irza Khurun’in, S.IP.,MA Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami faktor pendorong India dalam menyepakati bilateral trade agreement dengan Singapura dalam India-Singapore Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement. Bilateral Trade Agreement sendiri merupakan perjanjian yang saat ini sudah banyak dijalin oleh berbagai negara-negara di dunia. Kerjasama bilateral ini dapat dilakukan oleh dua negara atau satu negara dengan satu PTA atau dua PTA maupun dengan dua BTA. India merupakan salah satu negara yang menyepakati adanya BTA dengan salah satu negara ekonomi terbesar di Asia Tenggara yaitu Singapura. Dengan melihat adanya perkembangan kerjasama kedua negara dalam berbagai bidang, baik itu ekonomi, jasa dan investasi serta melihat adanya kenaikan ekspor terhadap produk India ke pasar Singapura. Dalam penerapan CECA ini, India menerapkan spesialisasi produk yang mana hal tersebut memberikan keuntungan tersendiri kepada India. Dalam menganalisa penelitian ini, penulis menggunakan konsep Bilateral Trade Agreement yang ditulis oleh Jayant Menon. Adapun hasil dari penelitian ini menemukan bahwa motivasi India menyepakati adanya Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement pada tahun 2005 dilatar belakangi oleh dua faktor yaitu general factor dan specific factor. Dalam general factor yang paling dominan adalah faktor snowballing effect. Sedangkan dalam specific factor yang paling dominan adalah faktor economic yang terdiri dari adanya sector driven dan market creating serta faktor political disintegration.
English Abstract
Abstract: This study aims to consider the driving factors of India in agreeing a bilateral trade agreement with Singapore in the India-Singapore Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement. Bilateral Trade Treaty itself is an agreement that has been established by many countries in the world. This bilateral cooperation can be carried out by two countries or one country with one PTA or two PTA or with two BTA. India is one country that denies the existence of BTA with one of the largest economic countries in Southeast Asia namely Singapore. By looking at the development of the two countries in various fields, be it the economy, services and investment as well as seeing the presence of investment in Indian products to the Singapore market. In implementing this CECA, India applies product specialization which gives its advantages both to India and Singapore. In analyzing this research, the writer uses the concept of Bilateral Trade Agreement written by Jayant Menon. The results of this study found that India's motivation to agree on a Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement in 2005 was motivated by two factors, general factors and specific factors. The most dominant in general factor is the snowballing effect. Whereas the most dominant in specific factor is economic factor which consists of sector driven and market creating and political disintegration factors as well.
