Abstract
Penelitian ini membahas tentang rivalitas dua kelompok supporter sepak bola di Indonesia yaitu The Jak Mania (supporter Persija Jakarta) dengan Bobotoh atau Viking (supporter Persib Bandung). Rivalitas dua supporter ini berlangsung sejak dari tahun 2000an hingga sampai saat ini. Dari rivalitas yang terjadi, memunculkan kelompok baru dalam supporter khususnya The Jak Mania yaitu komunitas Jak Scooter yang menghindari perseteruan dengan Bobotoh atau Viking melalui motor vespa. Komunitas Jak Scooter merupakan komunitas motor vespa yang berbasis dari The Jak Mania. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk menganalisis bagaimana bentuk serta peran modal sosial yang dimiliki oleh komunitas Jak Scooter dalam meredam rivalitas. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori dari Robert D Putnam yang memiliki tiga aspek penting yaitu trust (kepercayaan), norm (norma) dan network (jaringan) dalam terciptanya modal sosial. Metode penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Teknik pengambilan data dilakukan dengan observasi dengan mengikuti kegiatan yang dilakukan komunitas Jak Scooter, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa modal sosial memiliki peranan penting dalam meredam rivalitas antara The Jak Mania dengan Bobotoh. Modal sosial ini muncul karena adanya kesamaan sebagai pengendara motor vespa antara komunitas Jak Scooter dengan Scooter Viking yang lebih mengedepankan nilai solidaritas dibandingkan perseteruan. Motor vespa menjadi alat yang dapat menjembatani pertemuan antara The Jak Mania dengan Bobotoh. Semakin tinggi intensitas pertemuan yang dilakukan, dapat meningkatkan interaksi dan komunikasi sehingga akan terbentuk jaringan dan juga kepercayaan antara komunitas Jak Scooter dan Scooter Viking, selain itu adanya aturan yang disepakati bersama untuk meminimalisir perseteruan diantara mereka.
English Abstract
This research discussed about the rivalry of two groups of football supporters in Indonesia, namely The Jak Mania (supporter of Persija Jakarta) with Bobotoh or Viking (supporter Persib Bandung). The rivalry of these two supporters occured since the 2000s until now. From the rivalarity, brought up a new group in the supporter, especially The Jak Mania named the Jak Scooter community who is avoid the feud with Bobotoh or Viking through the Vespa motorcycle. The Jak Scooter community is the Vespa motorcycle community based out of The Jak Mania. The purpose of this research was to analysed the form and role of social capital that has been owned by the community of Jak Scooter in a dampening rival. This research used Robert D Putnam theory which has three important aspects: trust, norm and network to create a social capital. The method of this research was qualitative descriptive. The data retrieval technique was done by the observation from following the activities of Jak Scooter community, interviewed and documentation. The result of this research showed that social capital has an important role in the rivalarity between The Jak Mania and Bobotoh. This social capital emerged because of the similarity as a Vespa motorcycle rider between the community Jak Scooter and Scooter Viking that emphasized the value of solidarity compared to feud. The Vespa Motor became a tool that could bridge the gathering between The Jak Mania and Bobotoh. The higher intensity of the gathering, it can increase the interaction and communication so the network will be formed and also build the trust between Jak Scooter and Scooter Viking community. In addition there was the rules that has been agreed to minimizes the feud between them.
