Abstract
Novel Dr Upadi berkisahkan tentang Dewi Drupadi, salah satu tokoh pewayangan yang tidak pernah selesai ditafsirkan. Novel Dr Upadi merupakan contoh dari banyak karya sastra yang memunculkan tokoh perempuan dengan kepribadian yang berbeda. Drupadi dimunculkan oleh Sujiwo Tejo dengan pribadi yang tidak sama dibandingkan perempuan pada umumnya dalam tatanan masyarakat. Sebagai perempuan, Drupadi memiliki pemikiran dan karakter yang lain dari kebanyakan perempuan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan kebutuhan bertingkat (teori Humanistik Abraham Maslow) tokoh Drupadi, mulai dari kebutuhan fisiologis, psikis, dan pencapaian aktualisasi diri tokoh Drupadi. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif untuk mendeskripsikan pencapaian kebutuhan bertingkat (teori Humanistik Abraham Maslow) tokoh Drupadi, mulai dari kebutuhan fisiologis, psikis, dan pencapaian aktualisasi diri tokoh Drupadi. Penelitian deskriptif secara tekstual digunakan karena penelitian ini menganalisis novel Dr Upadi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pencapaian kebutuhan fisiologis (makan dan minum, tempat tinggal, dan seks) telah tercapai. Kebutuhan psikis tokoh Drupadi yang meliputi (1) kebutuhan akan rasa aman, (2) kebutuhan akan cinta dan memiliki, (3) kebutuhan akan harga diri, dan (4) kebutuhan akan aktualisasi diri telah tercapai. Pencapaian aktualisasi diri tokoh Drupadi ditunjukkan bahwa dengan menjadi dirinya sendiri dia berhasil menjadi alasan terjadinya perang Baratayuda. Drupadi juga menjadi individu yang mandiri, percaya diri, dan kuat melalui proses kehidupan yang dilaluinya.
English Abstract
Dr Upadi’s novel tells the story of Dewi Drupadi, one of the puppet figures that has never been interpreted. Dr Upadi's novel is an example of many literary works that gave rise to female characters with different personalities. Drupadi was raised by Sujiwo Tejo which have a different personality and it cannot be compared with women generally in the social fabric. As a woman, Drupadi has thoughts and characters that are different from most women. This study aims to reveal the multilevel needs (Humanistic Abraham Maslow's theory) of Drupadi's characters, starting from the physiological, psychological needs, and attainment of the selfactualization of Drupadi's figures. This study is using descriptive qualitative approach to describe the achievement of multilevel needs (Humanistic theory of Abraham Maslow) of Drupadi's characters, starting from the physiological, psychological needs, and self-actualization achievements of Drupadi's figures. Descriptive textual research was used because this study analyzed Dr Upadi's novel. The results showed that the attainment of physiological needs (food and drink, shelter, and sex) had been achieved. The psychic needs of the Drupadi figure include (1) the need for security, (2) the need for love and belonging, (3) the need for self-esteem, and (4) the need for self-actualization has been achieved. The achievement of Drupadi's self-actualization showed that by being himself he succeeded in becoming the reason for the Baratayuda war. Drupadi also became an independent, self-confident, and strong individual through the life process that he went through
