Abstract
Studi ini di lakukan dengan menganalisa praktik okultisme di era modern dan hubungan antara manusia dengan tuhan yang di gambarkan dalam film The Cabin in the Woods. Studi ini berfokus pada bagaimana praktik okultisme dilakukan di era modern dan bagaimana manusia menjaga hubungannya dengan Tuhan. Masalah utama di studi ini berkaitan dengan bagaimana praktik pemujaan di era modern di gambarkan di film The Cabin in the Woods. Teori okultisme dipilih untuk menganalisa praktik pemujaan yang digambarkan didalam film. Secara definisi okultisme berasal dari kata Latin: Occultus yang berarti tersembunyi, rahasia, atau tidak mudah di rasakan dan juga merujuk pada studi tentang realitas psikis dan spiritual yang lebih dalam yang melampaui dunia akal dan pikiran. Studi ini menggunakan film studi dan sinematograpi untuk mendukung analisis praktik pemujaan yang ditemukan di film ini. Praktik pemujaan di era modern menggunakan teknologi dan ilmu opengetahuan seperti reaksi kimia dari Rhohyptase unutk membantu praktik ritual. Praktik okultisme yang dapat di temukan di film The Cabin in the Woods adalah ritual pengorbanan manusia dan hipnotisme. Okultisme bukanlah sihir, tetapi sihir adalah salah satu alatnya. Praktik pemujaan yang digambarkan di film The Cabin in the Woods tidak menggunakan segala bentuk sihir. Hubungan antara manusia dan Tuhan yang digambarkan di film ini dapat dilihat dari praktik pemujaan yang di lakukan oleh para pelaku untuk tuhan yang perlu dilayani oleh manusia dengan melakukan praktik pemujaan untuk menjaga hubungan tersebut.
English Abstract
This study analyses practice of occultism in modern era and the relationship between human and god depicted in The Cabin in the Woods movie. This study focuses on how the occult practice has done in modern era and how humans maintain their relationship with God. The main problem in this study concerns with how the occult practice in modern era depicted in The Cabin in the Woods movie. Occultism theory was chosen to analyze the occult practice depicted in the movie. By definition occultism came from a Latin word: Occultus which means hidden, secret or not easily perceived and it also refers to the study of a deeper psychic and spiritual reality that extends beyond the world of sense and thought. This study use movie study and cinematography to support analyze the occult practice found in the movie. The occult practice in modern era uses technology and science such as chemical reactions of Rhohyptase in order to help the ritual practice. The occult practices that found in The Cabin in the Woods movie are human sacrifice ritual and hypnotism. Occultism is not magic, though magic is one of its tools. Occult practice depicted in The Cabin in the Woods movie is not using any kind of magic. The relation between humans and god depicted in the movie can be seen from the occult practices practiced by the perpetrators for the god which needs to be served by humans by using occult practices to maintain said relation
