Abstract
Karakter mulia merupakan tujuan utama dalam proses pendidikan. Mahasiswa akuntansi sebagai calon akuntan harus memiliki karakter mulia. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji dan menjelaskan secara empiris faktor internal dalam diri (kecerdasan emosional dan kecerdasan spiritual) yang dapat memengaruhi pembentukan karakter mulia mahasiswa akuntansi di Kota Malang. Serta, peran dosen dalam membantu mahasiswa dalam pembentukan karakter mulia. Penelitian ini menggunakan sampel mahasiswa S1 akuntansi di Kota Malang sebanyak 385 mahasiswa. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dengan skala likert. Teknik analisis menggunakan SEM-PLS dengan bantuan WarpPls 6.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa karakter mulia dapat terbentuk apabila mahasiswa akuntansi memiliki kecerdasan emosional dan kecerdasan spiritual yang baik. Hasil lain, peran dosen dapat membantu mahasiswa akuntansi untuk memperkuat kecerdasan emosional dalam membentuk karakter mulia. Namun, tidak dapat membantu mahasiswa akuntansi untuk memperkuat kecerdasan spiritual dalam membentuk karakter mulia.
English Abstract
Noble characteristic is the main goal of education. Accounting students as prospective accountants must have such characteristics. This study aims to empirically examine and explain the internal factors of self (emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence) which can influence the creation of noble characteristics for accounting students in Malang city and the role of lecturers in helping students create noble characteristics. The sample of this study is 385 accounting undergraduate students in Malang City. The data was collected from Likert scale questionnaires and analyzed using SEM-PLS in Warp-Pls 6.0. This study finds that noble characteristics will be created if accounting students have good emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence. Furthermore, lecturers can help them strengthen their emotional intelligence for noble characteristics, but it cannot help them strengthen their spiritual intelligence for noble characteristics.
