Silaban, Donna Isra (2019) Interaksi Simbolik Sebagai Penghubung Antara Presentasi Diri Online Dan Kecenderungan Menjadi Pelaku Cyberbullying Remaja Kota Medan. Magister thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between variable symbolic interactions, online self presentation variables and propensity variables for cyberbullying. It is assumed that there is a positive and significant relationship between online self presentation (X) and the tendency of cyberbullying (Y) to be mediated by symbolic interaction (M). The method used in this study is quantitative involving 435 respondents. In data collection, the instrument uses the Twenty Statement of Self Attitude Test by Manford Kuhn, the online self-presentation scale of Mayawati (2016) and the scale of tendency to be the cyberbullying of Lesbassa (2014). Mediator analysis is processed using SmartPLS. The results of the study show the direct correlation coefficient between online self presentation and symbolic interaction is 4.304; the coefficient of the indirect relationship between online self presentation and the tendency to be cyberbullying is 2,665; the direct correlation coefficient between symbolic interactions and the tendency to be cyberbullying is 2.674. While the coefficient of the indirect relationship between online self presentation and the tendency to become an actor through symbolic interaction is 2,271. Based on the test results found the overall value of T Statistics> T-table (1.96). So that it can be seen that online self presentation and the tendency of cyberbullying show a positive and significant relationship in adolescents in Medan City through symbolic interactions.
