Abstract

Remaja merupakan masa transisi dari kanak-kanak menuju dewasa. Perubahan yang terjadi pada masa tersebut baik kognitif, fisik, dan perubahan sosial berkontribusi pada munculnya masalah sosial seperti perilaku agresif pada teman sebaya, baik dilingkungan sekolah maupun di rumah. Angka kejadian perilaku menyimpang remaja di Maumere sangat tinggi seperti merokok, membolos sekolah, perkelahian remaja, mengkonsumsi serta mengkonsumsi alkohol yang dapat merusak masa mereka. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap konsep diri remaja yaitu faktor usia kematangan, penampilan diri, teman sebaya, hubungan keluarga, perilaku orangtua, dan kreativitas. Metode penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif dengan pendekatan cross sectional yang melibatkan 372 responden. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Data dianalisis menggunakan path yang menunjukkan pengaruh langsung terhadap konsep diri adalah faktor hubungan keluarga sebesar p value < 0,001 < α = 0,05, faktor kreativitas p value < 0,001 < α = 0,05, faktor dukungan orangtua p value < 0,001 < α = 0,05, faktor teman sebaya p value < 0,001 < α = 0,05, faktor penampilan diri p value < 0,001 < α = 0,05, faktor kematanga usia p value < 0,001 < α = 0,05, dan variabel konsep diri terhadap perilaku sebesar 0,011. Pengauh tidak langsung konsep diri terhadap perilaku negatif sebesar 0,009 dan konsep diri terhadap perilaku positif sebesar <0,001 yang berati H0 ditolak atau ada pengaruh langsung dan tidak langsung terhadap konsep diri remaja. Faktor hubungan keluarga merupakan faktor yang paling berpengaruh terhadap konsep diri remaja yaitu sebesar 1,51. Adanya pengaruh langsung antara hubungan keluarga, kreatifitas, dukungan orangtua, teman sebaya, usia kematangan terhadap konsep diri dan pengaruh tidak langsung antara konsep diri terhadap perilaku positif dan negatif

English Abstract

Adolescence is a transitional phase from childhood to adulthood. A lot of changes occur in the adolescence including changes in cognitive, physical and social domains that might trigger various social issues such as aggressive behaviour among peers at school and at home. Low self-esteem is an issue that frequently occurs which influences the psychological domain of adolescents as they are expected to have mature emotional state in taking various decisions. The emotional maturity is formed by the role of parenting and harmonious family relationship. A harmonious family supports adolescents’ creativity that will strengthen their self-concepts. The rate of deviant behaviour among adolescents in Maumere was quite high including smoking, playing truant, juvenile fights, and alcohol consumption that give negative impacts to their life. This research was done to analyze the factors that influence adolescents’ self-concept including age of maturity, self-appearance, peers, family relationship, parent’s behaviour and creativity. This research employed a quantitative method using a cross-sectional approach that involved 372 respondents. The samples of this research were selected using the purposive sampling method. Research data were analyzed using the path analysis which result indicated direct influences of some factors on the adolescents’ self-concept; family relationship with p value < 0.001 < α = 0.05, creativity with p value < 0.001 < α = 0.05, parents’ supports with p value < 0.001 < α = 0.05, peers with p value < 0.001 < α = 0.05, self-appearance with p value < 0.001 < α = 0.05, age of maturity with p value < 0.001 < α = 0.05, and p value between self-concept and behaviour at 0.011. Meanwhile, an indirect influence was found in adolescents’ self-concept on negative behaviour at 0.009 and on positive behaviour at <0.0001 which rejected H0 and indicating the presence of both direct and indirect influences toward self-concept among adolescents. Family relationship appeared to have the strongest influence on self-concept among adolescents at 1.51. Family relationship, creativity, parent’s supports, peers, age of maturity directly influenced adolescents’ self-concept, while self-concept was found to share indirect influence on both positive and negative behaviors.
