Abstract

Penggunaan hairspray dimasyarakat sudah menjadi hal yang wajar. Namun didalamnya terkandung bahan-bahan yang mampu memicu timbulnya radikal bebas di dalam tubuh seperti cocamide DEA, lauramide DEA, senyawa kopolimer, dan propanol. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui seberapa pengaruhnya pemberian antioksidan pada eritrosit mencit yang terpapar hairspray. Resistivitas dan kapasitansi diukur dengan menggunakan multimeter, sehingga dapat dihitung nilai resistivitas, konduktivitas, dan konstanta dielektrikmya. Impedansi diukur dengan menggunakan picoscope dengan frekuensi 1 Hz - 1 MHz. Alat ESR (Electron Spin Resonance) digunakan untuk mengamati aktivitas radikal bebas dan mengetahui jenis radikal bebas pada eritrosit mencit. Selain itu, juga diamati kelainan morfologi eritrosit darah, sehingga dapat dihitung persentase kerusakan sel eritrositnya. Uji kadar MDA sebagai uji tambahan untuk mengukur derajat stress oksidatifnya. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pada eritrosit mengandung radikal bebas jenis anion superoksida (O2-). Pemberian antioksidan dapat meningkatkan nilai resistivitas, konstanta dielektrik, dan impedansi, sedangkan nilai konduktivitas dan kadar MDA menurun.

English Abstract

The using of hairspray was usual in the community. However it contains ingredients that can trigger free radicals in the body, such as cocamide DEA, lauramide DEA, copolymer compounds and propanol. This study aims to know the effect of antioxidants consumption on the erythrocytes of mice exposed to hairspray. The resistivity and capacitance are measured using a multimeter, so the values of resistivity, conductivity and dielectric constants can be calculated. The impedance is measured using a picoscope with a frequency of 1 Hz - 1 MHz. The ESR tools (Electron Spin Resonance) is used to observe the type of free radicals activity in the erythrocytes of mice. In addition, morphological abnormalities of the erythrocytes in the blood were also observed, so the percentage of cellular damage of the erythrocytes can be calculated. Test the MDA (Malondialdehid) levels as an additional test to measure the degree of oxidative stress. The results of this study showed that the erythrocytes contained superoxide free radicals (O2-). Antioxidants can increase the resistivity value, the dielectric constant and the impedance, while the conductivity value and the MDA levels decrease.
