Abstract
Bagi penggemar budaya Jepang, istilah fujoshi tentu tidak asing lagi. Fujoshi sendiri merupakan sebutan bagi penggemar manga boys love (BL), yakni cerita fiksi dengan genre hubungan percintaan laki-laki yang sifatnya homoromantis dan homoerotis namun dikhususkan bagi pembaca perempuan. Fenomena fujoshi sendiri tak hanya terjadi di Jepang, namun juga terjadi di Indonesia yang notabene masih menganut heteronormativitas. Para fujoshi yang ada di Indonesia lebih banyak menghabiskan waktunya di internet karena kemudahannya dalam mengakses informasi serta kemudahannya dalam berinteraksi tidak terbatas pada ruang dan waktu. Namun, ketertarikannya pada boys love membuatnya mendapat stigma, dianggap sebagai perempuan menyimpang karena telah keluar dari norma heteronormatif. Dalam prosesnya, peneliti menggunakan teori performativitas dari Judith Butler dalam melihat upaya komunitas fujoshi pecinta drama boys love Thailand 2 Moons The Series menghadapi stigma. Perfomativitas Judith Butler terkait dengan seks dan gender yang selanjutnya membentuk identitas. Dalam teori ini, Butler menolak pandangan heteronormatif yang terikat pada wacana maskulin dan feminin yang mana tidak memberi ruang dan toleransi terhadap bentuk-bentuk gender lainnya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah netnografi. Data diperoleh dengan mengumpulkan data berupa observasi partisipan, wawancara, screenshot dan studi literatur. Selanjutnya, teknik analisis menggunakan analisis data model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan stigma yang melekat pada komunitas fujoshi dan bagaimana mereka menghadapinya. Stigmatisasi ini terlihat dari adanya pemberitaan mengenai fenomena fujoshi yang hanya membahas satu sisi negatif. Selanjutnya, beberapa upaya komunitas fujoshi dalam menghadapi stigma adalah membentuk grup tertutup, terbuka pada sesama anggota komunitas, dan menghidupkan grup media sosial.
English Abstract
For fans of Japanese culture, the term fujoshi is certainly familiar. Fujoshi himself is a term for fans of the manga boys love (BL), which is a fictional story with the genre of male love relationship that are homoromantic and homoerotic but are specific for female reader. Fujoshi’s phenomenon itself not only occurs in Japan, but also occurs in Indonesia which incidentally still adheres to heteronormativity. The Fujoshi in Indonesia spend more time on the internet because of it easy to access information and its ease of interacting not limited to space and time. However, his interest in boys love likes to be seen as deviant women because he has come out of heteronormative norms. In the process, researchers used a performance theory from Judith Butler to see the effort of the Thai boys love drama lovers 2 Moons The Series to face the stigma. Judith Butler’s performativity is related to sex and gender which in turn shape identity. In this theory, Butler rejects the heternormative views requested of masculine and feminine discourse which don‘t provide space and tolerance for other forms of gender. The research method used is netnography. Data obtained by collecting data consist of participant observations, interviews, screenshot, adn literature studies. Furthermore, the analysis technique uses Miles and Huberman’s model data analysis. The result of this study show the stigma attached to fujoshi community and how they deal with it. This stigmatization can be seen from the news about fujoshi phenomenon which only addresses one negative side. Furthernore, some fujoshi community effort in dealing with stigma are forming closed groups, being open to fellow community members, and reviving social media groups.
