Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah mengetahui hubungan antara self-esteem dan presentasi diri pengguna media sosial Instagram usia dewasa awal. Penelitian kuantitatif korelasional ini melibatkan pengguna aktif Instagram yang merupakan mahasiswa/i berusia 18-25 tahun di Kota Malang. Sejumlah 231 responden dikumpulkan mengunakan teknik non-probability sampling khususnya metode purposive sampling melalui situs survei online. Penelitian ini menggunakan skala self-esteem dan skala presentasi diri. Pengujian hipotesis dalam penelitian ini menggunakan analisis PearsonProduct Moment. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat hubungan positif antara self esteem dan presentasi diri pengguna media sosial Instagram usia dewasa awal dengan koefisien korelasi sebesar 0,391 dan p = 0.000 pada signifikansi 0.05.

English Abstract

The aims of this study is to determine the correlation between self-esteem andself-presentation students of social media Instagram user early adulthood. This quantitative correlational study involved the owner and active user of Instagram which are the undergraduate students aged 18 to 25 in Malang. 231 participants were garthered using non-probability sampling, particularly purposive sampling methods through online survey website. This research uses self-esteem scale and self-presentation scale. Hypotesis testing in this study was conducted with Pearson Product Moment analysis.The result of this study to show a positive correlation between self-esteem andself-presentationstudents of social media Instagram userearly adulthood with a correlation coefficient of 0,391 and p=0.000 at a significance of 0.05.
