English Abstract
This research aims to determine the population dynamics of swamp buffalo in Banyuwangi Regency. This research was conducted in 3 subdistricts, Banyuwangi Regency. The research material used was 122 famers with a total number of 384 buffaloes. The total number of buffaloes, 5 age groups consisting of 2-3 years (PI1), 3-4 years (PI2), 4-5 years old (PI3), and > 5 years (PI4). The method used was survey. Variable observed in this study is reproduction performance which includes migration, structure of population, reproductive efficiency, output, service per conception (S/C), conception rate (CR) dannatural increase (NI). The results showed that the average value of calving interval was 16.39 ± 0.42 months, AnestrusPost Partum (APP) was 4.78 ± 0.39 months, Service Per Conception (S/C) was 1.3 ± 0.07, Conception Rate (CR) was 70.26 ± 8.30%, Days Open (DO) was 5.82 ± 0.35 months, swamp buffalo output was 43,27% and the natural value of swamp buffalo in Banyuwangi Regency was 16,93%. It was concluded that the population dynamics of swamp buffalo in 2017 a muchdifferent percentage based on NI and output values. It is recommended to do further research to find out the value of population dynamics using NI and output data in the following years.
