Abstract
Gout merupakan suatu proses inflamasi yang terjadi karena deposisi kristal asam urat pada jaringan sekitar sendi. Insiden dan prevalensi gout terus meningkat setiap tahunnya. Allopurinol merupakan obat gout yang tergolong sebagai Obat Wajib Apotek (OWA). Syarat pemberian OWA yaitu memenuhi ketentuan dan batasan tiap jenis obat per pasien serta memberikan informasi meliputi dosis, aturan pakai, kontraindikasi, dan efek samping. Allopurinol biasa diresepkan dengan analgesik untuk terapi gout. Keberhasilan terapi dalam penggunaan allopurinol dan analgesik dapat dipengaruhi oleh tingkat pengetahuan pasien, sehingga perlu diimbangi dengan pemberian informasi yang benar oleh apoteker. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konseling apoteker terhadap tingkat pengetahuan pasien dalam penggunaan allopurinol dan analgesik di apotek wilayah Kota Malang. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah experimental dan jenis penelitian one group pretest – posttest. Pemilihan sampel apotek dilakukan dengan teknik cluster sampling, sedangkan sampel responden menggunakan teknik purposive sampling sesuai kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Jumlah responden yang diperoleh sebanyak 87 responden dari 15 apotek yang berada di wilayah Kota Malang. Analisis statistik yang digunakan adalah uji Wilcoxon, untuk mengetahui pengaruh konseling apoteker terhadap tingkat pengetahuan pasien dalam penggunaan allopurinol dan analgesik. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pengetahuan secara signifikan (p=0,000) setelah diberikan konseling oleh apoteker terkait penggunaan allopurinol dan analgesik. Sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa, konseling apoteker berpengaruh positif terhadap tingkat pengetahuan pasien dalam penggunaan allopurinol dan analgesik.
English Abstract
Gout is an inflammatory process that occurs because of the deposition of uric acid crystals in the tissue around the joint. The incidence and prevalence of gout continue to increase every year. Allopurinol is a gout drug that is classified as a mandatory drug pharmacy (OWA). OWA’s requirements are fulfilling the conditions and limitations of each type of drug per patient and providing information including dosage, usage rules, contraindications, and side effects. Allopurinol is commonly prescribed with analgesic for the treating gout. The success of therapy using allopurinol and analgesic can be influenced by the patients level of knowledge, so it needs to be balanced with the provision of correct information by the pharmacist. This study aimed to determine the effect of pharmacist counseling on the patients level of knowledge in the use allopurinol and analgesic at the pharmacies in the Malang city area. This study was using experimental method and the type of study was one group pretest – posttest. Sampling method in drug store used cluster sampling, while the patients were selected with purposive sampling method with inclusion and exclusion criteria. There were 87 respondents from 15 different pharmacies in Malang city. Statistical analysis was done by using Wilcoxon test in order to understand the influence of pharmacist counseling on the patients level of knowledge about allopurinol and analgesic usage. According to the result, there is a significant increase in knowledge of the patients (p=0,000) after the counseling given by pharmacist. In brief, pharmacist counseling tends to increase the respondents level of knowledge about allopurinol and analgesic usage.
