Abstract
Sebagian besar pelajar bahasa Inggris mungkin memiliki kemampuan untuk mengucapkan bahasa Inggris dengan benar dan mungkin memiliki masalah untuk mengucapkannya. Salah satu faktor yang berpengaruh adalah gangguan bahasa pertama. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pertimbangan bahwa L1 dapat mempengaruhi pembelajar suara pengucapan bahasa Inggris. Ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Hal ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh Dialek Madura terhadap pelafalan bahasa Inggris siswa baik pengaruh positif maupun negatif. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengeksplorasi pengaruh dominan bahasa Madura terhadap pelafalan bahasa Inggris di kalangan siswa Madura dan untuk menjelaskan faktor-faktor yang membuat siswa Madura sulit mengucapkan katakata bahasa Inggris. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa English Lover Club (ELC). Ada 10 subjek siswa ELC dan peneliti memilihnya secara acak. Data dikumpulkan melalui rekaman suara siswa dalam membaca teks naratif bahasa Inggris dan beberapa kata yang terisolasi . Selain itu, teknik dan instrumen, yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini, melakukan tes, analisis dokumen, wawancara, rekaman, transkripsi fonetik, dan pedoman wawancara. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa ada beberapa aspek pengucapan yang telah dipengaruhi oleh bahasa ibu mereka dalam mengucapkan pengucapan bahasa Inggris. Mereka adalah suara konsonan, suara vokal, dan suara diftong. dan siswa perlu mempraktekkan bahasa Inggris untuk fasih dalam menggunakan beberapa kata bahasa Inggris.
English Abstract
Most English learners may have an ability to pronounce English speech sounds properly and may have problems to pronounce them. One of the influential factors is the first language interference. This study was conducted under the consideration that L1 may influence the learners‘pronunciation of English speech sounds. It is a qualitative study. It was aimed to investigatethe influence of Maduranese Dialect toward students‘ pronunciation of English speech both positive and negative influence. The objectives of this research to explore the dominant influence of Maduranese toward English pronunciation among Madurese students and to explain the factors which make the Madurese students difficult to pronounce the English words. The subjects of this study are the students of English Lover Club (ELC) student. There are 10 subjects students of ELC and the resercher choosed them randomly. The data are in the form of the students‘ voice recording in reading an English narative text and some isolated words once.. Besides, the technique and instrument, which are used in this research, are performing test, document analysis, interview,recording, phonetic transcription, and interview guideline. The study conclude that there were some aspects of pronunciation which have been influenced yet by their mother tongue in pronouncing English pronunciation. They were consonant sounds, vowel sounds, and diphthong sounds. and student need to practice the english language in order to fluent in pronincing some English word.
