Nasution, Ramadhini Puspita (2019) Pengaruh Diet Tinggi Kolesterol Terhadap Kadar Glukosa Darah Tikus (Rattus norvegicus) Bunting. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Gestational diabetes mellitus is the condition of pregnant women with high blood glucose. Gestational diabetes mellitus has bad impacts on mother and fetus such as caesarean section, macrosomia, shoulder dystocia and infant mortality. Diabetes occurs due to glucose metabolic disorder causes insulin resistance, insulin resistance is closely related to increased cholesterol. Someone with high cholesterol is caused by high cholesterol diet habits and has bad impact on cardiovascular health. This study was aimed to prove that high cholesterol diet affected the increased blood glucose during pregnancy. This study used method of true experiment with randomized post test only group design. This study used 18 pregnant white rats (Rates norvegicus) was divided into two groups (control and treatment). For 18 days of pregnancy, control group was given 20 gram/ day standard diet, while the treatment group received 20 gram/day high cholesterol diet. On day 19 of pregnancy, their blood was taken for blood glucose measurement. The results was tested using Independent t-test and showed significant difference (p=0,03) in blood glucose between control and treatment groups. Conclusion of this study is that high diet cholesterol is proven to increase blood glucose in treatment group.
