Abstract
Penelitian ini menguraikan tentang adanya realitas yang baru pada masyarakat Tengger di Desa Ranu Pani, Lumajang, Jawa Timur. Penulis mengangkat permasalahan realitas yang terjadi dikarenakan masyarakat Tengger memiliki perbedaan dulu dan sekarang setelah hadirnya pariwisata di lingkungan mereka. Masyarakat Tengger yang dulunya memiliki sifat tertutup pada wisatawan dan masih menganggap pariwisata hal yang biasa saja serta masih kental dengan pengetahuan lokal yang turun – temurun. Munculnya efek pariwisata kemudian mempengaruhi kehidupan sosial ekonomi. Penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif ini berupaya untuk menjawab rumusan masalah (1) Bagaimana pengaruh pariwisata di Desa Ranu Pani. (2) Bagaimana bentuk strategi masyarakat Ranu Pani dalam menghadapi perkembangan adanya pariwisata. Hasil dari penelitian penulis menunjukkan bahwa realitas yang terjadi di masyarakat Tengger khususnya di Desa Ranu Pani ini mengalami perubahan sosial sebagai dampak dari adanya pengembangan kawasan wisata. Hal ini dikarenakan realitas yang hadir secara nyata itu dikonstruksi dan diinternalisasikan ke dalam kehidupan masyarakat Tengger, seperti halnya kepedulian terhadap lingkungan dan mampu berinteraksi dengan wisatawan serta mampu menciptakan relasi sosial. Selain itu juga ada penyesuaian adaptasi terhadap perubahan gaya hidup masyarakat Tengger dan kemunculan mata pencaharian baru bagi mereka.
English Abstract
This research elaborates about the existence of the new reality in Tengger People at Ranu Pani village, Lumajang, East Java. The author raised the issue of reality that happened caused by Tengger people had the differences in the past and present time after the existence of tourism in their environment. The Tengger people which used to have the closed characteristic to the tourist and still assume that toruism is the common thing and also still dense with the local knowledge generation to generation. The emergence of the tourism effect then influences socio-economic life. The discriptive research with this qualitative approach try to answer the research problem (1) What is the effect of tourism in Ranu Pani Village. (2) What is the form of the Ranu Pani people’s strategy in facing the development of tourism. The results of the author's research show that the reality that happened in the Tengger community, especially in the village of Ranu Pani is experiencing social changes as the result of the development of tourist areas. This matter is because the reality that really exist is constructed and internalized into the life of the Tengger people, as well as the concern for the environment and being able to interact with tourists and be able to create social relations. Besides, there are also adaptations to changes in the lifestyle of the Tenggerese and the emergence of new livelihoods for them.
