Abstract
Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh belum diterapkannya metode tertentu dalam mengelola persediaan bahan baku di Pabrik Es Wira Jatim yang mengakibatkan menumpuknya jumlah persediaan bahan baku di gudang penyimpanan dan jumlah pemesanan setiap kali memesan bahan baku yang belum ditetapkan sehingga biaya pemesanan dan biaya penyimpanan belum terkendali. Biaya persediaan bahan baku dapat diminimalkan dengan diterapkannya metode EOQ (Economic Order Quantity). Metode ini dapat menunjukkan kuantitas pesanan ekonomis, frekuensi pembelian optimal, waktu untuk melakukan pemesanan ulang/ROP(ReOrder Point), dan jumlah bahan baku pengaman/safety stock. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui proses pengendalian persediaan bahan baku dengan kondisi aktual perusahaan dan pengaruh penerapan metode EOQ terhadap total biaya persediaan bahan baku Pabrik Es Wira Jatim. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan teknik observasi dan wawancara sedangkan metode analisis data yang digunakan adalah metode EOQ dengan memperhitungkan TIC (Total Inventory Cost), ROP, frekuensi pemesanan kembali, dan safety stock. Hasil perhitungan dan analisis data menggunakan metode EOQ menunjukkan total biaya persediaan yang lebih rendah jika dibandingkan dengan metode aktual perusahaan. Metode EOQ juga dapat membantu perusahaan untuk mengurangi pengaruh fluktuatif permintaan proses produksi yang tidak menentu.
English Abstract
This research is motivated by the absence of certain methods in managing the supply of raw materials at the Wira Jatim Ice Factory which results in the accumulation of the amount of raw material inventory in the storage warehouse and the number of orders each time ordering raw materials that have not been established so that the ordering and storage costs have not been controlled. The cost of inventory of raw materials can be minimized by the application of the EOQ method (Economic Order Quantity). This method can show economic order quantity, optimal purchase frequency, time to reorder / ROP (Re-Order Point), and the amount of safety raw material / safety stock. The purpose of this study was to determine the process of controlling raw material inventories with the actual conditions of the company and the effect of the application of the EOQ method on the total cost of raw material inventory of the Ice Wira Jatim Factory. Data collection is done by using observation and interview techniques while the data analysis method used is the EOQ method taking into account TIC (Total Inventory Cost), ROP, frequency of reordering, and safety stock. The results of the calculation and analysis of data using the EOQ method show a lower total inventory cost compared to the actual method of the company. The EOQ method can also help companies reduce the volatile effects of uncertain production processes.
