Abstract
Retorika visual merupakan istilah untuk mendeskripsikan studi visual dalam ranah ilmu retorika, berkaitan dengan studi tentang penggunaan simbol-simbol untuk berkomunikasi. Retorika visual dapat memengaruhi pemikiran dan perilaku individu melalui penyampaian pesan dalam gambar. Kartunis melihat kesempatan ini dengan memberikan gambar mereka sebagai bentuk edukasi moral mengenai anti korupsi. Pameran kartun anti korupsi diadakan setelah kejadian operasi tangkap tangan DPRD dan Bupati Malang di Balaikota saat Oktober 2018 lalu. Retorika visual membaca kartun-kartun anti korupsi sebagai perspektif dengan menggunakan elemen-elemen karya visual dan pandangan para pengunjung. Kartun-kartun yang dibuat ini dimaksudkan untuk memberikan kritik dan sindiran kepada para koruptor atas tindakan yang mereka lakukan selain untuk mengedukasi pengunjungnya. Melalui penelitian ini penulis ingin menyampaikan pesan yang diterima oleh peneliti dan pengunjung melalui gambar kartun anti korupsi tersebut. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik analisis retorika visual sebagai perspektif. Penelitian ini menganalisis 7 kartun anti korupsi yang telah ditentukan oleh panitia dan juga peneliti. Responden yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah 5 pengunjung dengan teknik sampling snowball. Analisis yang dilakukan peneliti menggunakan retorika visual sebagai perspektif yang diurutkan menjadi 3 tahapan, yaitu nature of image, function of image dan evaluation of image. Ketiga rangkaian tahapan ini yang memberikan hasil dari peneltiian retorika visual kartun anti korupsi. Penyalahgunaan wewenang menimbulkan korupsi dapat terjadi. Kegiatan korupsi yang banyak dilakukan oleh pemimpin menjadikan korupsi identik dengan politikus dan diibaratkan dengan tikus. Tikus merupakan hewan yang hidup di tempat kotor menjadi sebuah kesamaan dengan tingkah laku para koruptor. Sindiran dan kritik tersebut didapatkan melalui pesan yang ditangkap pada gambar kartun dengan menggunakan Retorika Visual sebagai Perspektif
English Abstract
Visual rhetoric is a term to describe visual studies in the realm of rhetoric, relating to the study of the use of symbols to communicate. Visual rhetoric can influence individual thoughts and behavior through the delivery of messages in images. Cartoonists saw this opportunity by giving their images as a form of moral education regarding anti-corruption. The anti-corruption cartoon exhibition was held after the capture of Malang DPRD and Regent at the City Hall in October 2018. Visual rhetoric reads anti-corruption cartoons as a perspective by using elements of the visual work and views of the visitors. The cartoons made are intended to provide criticism and satire to the corruptors for the actions they have taken in addition to educating their visitors. Through this research the author wants to convey the message received by researchers and visitors through the anti-corruption cartoon image. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with a technique of visual rhetoric analysis as a perspective. This study analyzed 7 anti-corruption cartoons that had been determined by the committee and also researchers. The respondents used by the researchers were 5 visitors with the snowball sampling technique. The analysis carried out by researchers used visual rhetoric as a perspective that was sorted into 3 stages, namely the nature of image, function of image and evaluation of image. These three series of stages provide results from the research of the anti-corruption cartoon rhetoric. Abuse of authority to cause corruption can occur. Many corruption activities carried out by leaders make corruption synonymous with politicians and likened to mice. Mice are animals that live in dirty places to become a similarity with the behavior of corruptors. The insinuation and criticism was obtained through messages captured in cartoon images using Visual Rhetoric as a Perspective
