Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan variabel self-esteem terhadap variabel forgiveness. Metode penelitian menggunakan kuantitatif dengan teknik regresi linear sederhana. Subjek penelitian yakni mahasiswa yang sedang menempuh jenjang strata 1 di Indonesia dan jumlah subjek yang terlibat sebanyak 415 orang. Variabel self-esteem diukur menggunakan RSES (Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale) oleh Rosenberg (1989) dan telah diadaptasi oleh Azwar (2012). Skala untuk mengukur forgiveness menggunakan TRIM-12 (Transgression Related Interpersonal Motivation) oleh McCullough (1998). Penelitian ini menghasilkan temuan bahwa terdapat hubungan negatif yang signifikan antara self-esteem terhadap forgiveness dengan besar hubungan sebesar 4,2%.
English Abstract
This study aims to investigate the role of self-esteem toward forgiveness variables. Assessment was carried out quantitatively by simple linear regression technique which included 415 undergraduate students in Indonesia as participants. Self-esteem variable was assessed using RSES (Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale) as proposed by Rosenberg (1989) and adapted by Azwar (2012). Forgiveness scale was assessed using TRIM-12 (Transgression Related Interpersonal Motivation) as proposed by McCullough (1998). Results indicate that there is significant negative role between self-esteem and forgiveness with the value of 4,2%.
