Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan bukti empiris mengenai pengaruh free cash flow terhadap biaya agensi dan kinerja keuangan. Sampel pada penelitian ini adalah sebanyak 62 perusahaan sektor keuangan yang terdaftar di BEI tahun 2014- 2017, yang diperoleh menggunakan metode purposive sampling. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis regresi sederhana untuk mengetahui pengaruh antar variabel. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan free cash flow berpengaruh negatif terhadap biaya agensi dan free cash flow berpengaruh positif terhadap kinerja keuangan. Hal ini berarti manajemen mampu mengelola aset secara efisien sehingga biaya agensi menurun. Free cash flow yang tinggi berpengaruh positif karena perusahaan memiliki kesempatan berkembang lebih besar dengan arus kas yang tersedia.
English Abstract
This study aims to provide empirical evidence on the influence of free cash flow on agency cost and financial performance. The sample of this research were obtained through purposive sampling method, from which 62 financial sector companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange during 2014-2017 were selected. The results of the simple regression analysis indicate that free cash flow negatively affect agency cost and positively affect financial performance. This means that the companies can efficiently manage their assets to reduce agency costs. High free cash flow has a positive effect because it enables them to have a greater chance to develop using the cash flow in hand.
