Putra, Rafi Septian Eka (2019) Kajian Hubungan Kemantapan Agregat dengan Konduktivitas Hidrolik Jenuh pada Beberapa Tutupan Lahan Di UB Forest. Sarjana thesis, Universitas Brawijaya.
Abstract
English Abstract
Conversion of forest to agricultural land generally will cause a decrease in the quality of land. This is related to the reduction on litter and soil organic matter due to the method of forest clearead. Forest often changes to another land covers such as annual crops or agricultural land. This case also occurred in UB Forest (a forest that managed by Brawijaya University), that is located at Karangploso Distrid, Malang Regency. Forest generally has good soil quality such as the lower of bulk density value and soil penetration resistance. In contrast, a good soil forest will have a high value of total soil porosity, water holding capacity, and satured hydrolite conductivity. The purpose of this study was to analyze the characteristics and relationships between the physical properties of soil in some land covers and the differences in the physical properties of soil from plantasion forest. This research was conducted from November 2017 to January 2018 in UB Forest, Malang, East Java. Physical soil analysis was conducted in Laboratory of Soil Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Brawijaya University. The observed soil parameters were soil texture, C-organic, bulk density, particles density, soil porosity, saturated hydraulic conductivity, and aggregate stability. The selection of observation plots was carried out by surveying the conditions of land cover, represented by six types of land cover in UB Forest as follows (P1); pine + coffee with highly adjacent canopy (P2); pine + coffee with slightly adjacent canopy (P3); pine + coffee with medium canopy (P4); pine + annual crop (P5) and mahogany + coffee (P6). Each plot was 20x20 m2 in which the soil sample was taken and repeated four times for each type of land cover. This research used variance analysis (ANOVA) and then tested by using DMRT (Duncan Multiple Range Test). Furthermore, the correlation test and regression test were done to see the relationship as well as the effect of the parameters. The results showed that land cover differences significantly affected all physical properties of the soil in the upper and lower layers. The physical properties of the soil in the upper layer are better than those in the lower layers. The amount of organic matter in the upper layer is higher by 3% in protected areas. The relationship between the physical properties of the soil is a form of positive correlation. The top layer shows that each increase in DMR aggregate of 1 mm causes an increase in saturated hydraulic conductivity of 1,27 cm / hour, then the thing that applies to the lower layer with an increase in saturated hydraulic conductivity of 0.21 cm / hour.
